If we live in an ideal "boxing world", what are the ideal matches on a WW tournament... 1. PBF v. Cotto 2. Paul Williams v. Kermit Cintron 3. SSM v. Quintana 4. Margarito v Clottey rematch... Round 2: 5. Winner fight 1 vs. Winner Fight 4 6. Winner fight 2 vs. Winner Fight 3 Championship Round: 7. Winner Fight 5 vs. Winner Fight 6
I'll do the seeds like a basketball bracket 1) Mayweather 2) Cotto 3) Williams 4) Mosley 5) Margarito 6) Cintron 7) Clottey 8) Hatton Maybe should be in different seeds, but I did them in an order to make some interesting matchups. Hatton fights @ 140 but he moves up (and has more time to do so this time) and gets the 8th seed, to fight Mayweather. 2nd seed Cotto fights Clottey. 3rd seed Williams faces the 6th seeded big puncher Cintron, and 5th seeded Margarito faces the 4th seeded Mosley. I think all the favorites win in the first round. So 1st seeded Mayweather fights 4th seeded Mosley in the next round, and the 2nd seeded Cotto faces the #3 seed in Williams. Mayweather wins a UD over Mosley, and faces the Cotto-Williams winner. Williams would beat Mayweather IMO, but I don't know if he gets past Cotto.
though it wont happen i would love to see williams-pbf to see how floyd would fight someone with such a big advanage in height and whom uses his height in an affective manner
Besides the obvious mix and matching you could do with Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, Hatton(if he moves up), Williams, Margarito, etc. and still get tremendous matches, the one fight I'd like to see from a strictly entertainig stand point would be Cintron-Julio. While neither guy is quite at the point as some of the others, I think this has the potential to be the most entertaining welterweight bout, between contenders, that can be made.
