Mentioned it earlier. As well as the impact on the fighters, their families and those close to the fight, it also contributed to the elimination of 15 round title fights and same-day weigh ins.

As it was nationally televised in the US, it may also have been a contributing factor in the decline of boxing as a mass market sport and the shift towards cable and pay per view.

Billy Collins Jr vs Luis Resto

    Pryor vs Arguello

Antonio Margarito and whoever he fought with his plaster of Paris (Cotto, Cintron, who knows who else was effected.)

Benn-McClellan was an incredible fight with a very tragic conclusion.

Boom Boom Mancini against Kim at LW

Wait, look I find all answers good, but why Pryor Arguello or Morrison, vs Mercer. I respect all opinions, but what makes these fights tragic?

Yeah I agree it was tragic, for Miguel Cotto. Tony Margarito literally beat the crap out of Cotto LEGITIMATELY!!!!!! Tony made Miguel take a knee and QUIT!!!! What a shame Cotto and his fans cannot accept that fact & stop making accusations?? Tony was slapping his chest & threatening Cotto with a repeat until that crooked NY doc stopped the fight. Not to save Margarto's eye but to save Cotto quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok Tony had a harmless used gauze pad in his wrap before the Mosely fight. He got banned for 2 years for that. Does that warrant the name Margocheato???? In the Mosely fight Mosely was almost certainly roided up the way he fought. He was caught roiding after beating Oscar, but was he banned ??? No nor were any of the other cheaters like Jones jr, Kiltschko, Mosely himself.

You are full of crap with your Margarito & plaster of paris bull****.
All Tony had in his wrap for the Mosely fight was a harmless used gauze pad. That's what the lab that tested it found. There was NO Plaster no BLOCKS, no Plastic inserts like that liar Nazim Richardson claimed. Ive followed this closely from the start & believe me if there was the slightest proof Tony Margarito tried to cheat I'd be the first to demand his permanent ban from the sport but therte is not one iota of proof. Tony Margarito kicked ass LEGITIMATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any fight in which a fighter loses his life or suffers a career ending injury is an enormous tragedy. Not only for the injured fighter but also for his opponent. In almost every ring tragedy the winner of the fights career was basically ended too. Nigel Benn Emile Griffith & Ray Mancini are perfect examples. Though the tragedy was not their fault they seemed to wrongly blame themselves. I'm surprised no one mentioned Lupe Pintor & Johnny Owens fight too

Don't let your ass do the talking for you. There is absolutely ZERO proof.

Second fight was starting to look like a repeat of the first until Margarito's eye
(damage caused by Pac) opened up.

Antonio The Tijuana Tornado LEGITIMATELY made Miguel Cotto kneel in submission to him Cotto QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony was beating his chest & threatening to do it again in the rematch as Cotto started falling apart again. That NY doc jumped in , not to save Tony's eye but to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
All the lab, that tested the wraps for the Mosely fight, found was a HARMLESS used gauze pad. Thanks to that lying POC Richardson and the crooked CSAC people really thought Tony had loaded his gloves.
This was born out when the CSAC was asked to produce the " Loaded pads" they had conveniently "MISLAID" them. How convenient huh ?????????? This whole deal stank worse than a fish dock in 100 deg heat
The only cheating in the Mosely-Margarito fight was Mosely was slipped though juiced to the gills. Like he'd done at least once before when he beat Oscar

Sure was a crime. How that was not overturned is crazy.
