Martinez keeps calling Floyd out over and over again. Do you think this fight could happen?

No. My sense is that Mayweather would sooner retire than fight someone who's dangerous and doesn't bring big money to the table.

  3. on a scale of Margarito to Pacquiao?

Minimal to zero. Mayweather opponents of the last few years were built up early, the Hatton callout, Marquez saying "I'm going to face Mayweather" and Ellerbe "beware what you wish because you might get it", Mosley storming the post-JMM interview and Floyd attending Berto-Ortiz.

To have serious chance we would've already seen Martinez ringside / in the ring talking to Floyd / going Wlad over youtube / any sort of 2-sided communication, but it seemed like there was even a commentator lock as they didn't mention Maravilla. Team Floyd and GPB want none of Martinez, and I think they let HBO know.

  5. Mayweather only suits himself instead of better the sport, so that means all reward no risk competition.

Martinez is the only one who interest me at all.

For me it is... as Floyd opponent

    1. Martinez
    2. Pac

    3. Khan

Anyone else... I don't care about and I don't buy into any pre-fight sales pitch from the Mayweather family, Oscar etc etc... I did not watch the Ortiz fight and I am happy that I didn't because I knew Floyd would win. Even Oscar had to downplay Floyd to sell the fight as a competitive one.

I didn't buy the rubbish and I will not buy it next time either.

Martinez is by far the most interesting fight for me, and if it happens within 1 year max.. Floyd will have to pull out his best game to win.

Pac is good, but a bit small and personally I think his style is good for Floyd. The only question mark is Pac's stamina and punch output which may trouble Floyd. So still a good fight.

Martinez is a boxer which plays into Mayweather's hands. He will also be drained compared to Pacquiao.

Martinez had a close fight with Kermit Cintron at 154lbs, Floyd would embarrass Martinez at 154.

At 160lbs the fight would be different though. Pacquiao is the better fighter than Martinez, he's the tougher fight.

Very little. Martinez would be 20 pounds heavier than Floyd on fight night if they agreed on a fight at 154.

There is only so much Sergio can do if the guy doesnt want to fight.

Sergio has done everything but maybe go out in the desert and send smoke signals for Floyd to see from his Las Vegas home.

About as much chance as Wladimir Klitschko fighting Joe Frazier in 2012.

I don't see this fight happening. If Floyd was consistently fighting at 154, no problem but he is a true welterweight. Martinez is a full fledged middleweight these days and I would love to see him fight the name super middleweights. Sergio would get far more recognition for fighting and beating these guys.
