ryan garcia has fast hands combined with a punch from the grinder, the problem is that he needs to learn to take off blows, besides that he is very vulnerable with his guard since he gets jabs easily, in reality his jaw is regular, it is not even good ... this Fight with tra luke was very exciting I want to see more of garcia and that I am an absolute fan of teofimo you can see that he has a heart ... I think garcua should try to fight with linares or haney
Fast Hands & deceptive power because of the velocity ... fighters don’t see it coming then Wham! he needs to really work on his footwork & head movement. before taking on the champs.
Look how he keeps his cinn exposed Its begging to be hit Accuracy too, hits leather far too much but certain judges will score that so not to much of a worry And Street fighting
Strengths - Hand speed, punch variety, decent power, counter punching. Weaknesses - Open to counters, chin in the air, backs up in straight lines, lack of head movement, basically his defence isn't great. His offence is his defence to some degree, someone that keeps pressing and puts it on him consistently will expose his defence but because he does counter punch that won't be easy. Overall he's a talented kid and proved with the Cambell win he's no pretender but he still has things to work on before he faces the very top guys. At only 22 he has time on his side.
This is bang on the money. Agree 100%. I think more time with The Reynoso will see him moving around the ring like a boss when he hits his late 20's.
He reminds me of Amir Khan in terms of strengths and weaknesses. Strength- Blistering hand speed, decent power, a nasty and aggressive attitude. Loves to fight. Weaknesses- Chin is in the air, lack of ring IQ and a dodgy chin. I see his career going a similar way to Khan’s even if he is matched carefully. Eventually he will run into a puncher who catches him cold and stops him early.
Positive side- Hand speed, good power, great combos, nice looking kid—Make you gay for the stay Negative—Goes back straight lines and chin up. Flat feet..Most shots he has to be planted for power shots—
I think it's quite simple at the minute. Very very fast and hits quite hard. But flat footed and defence a bit suspect against world class fighters. I agree he could be another amir Khan with lots of good victories and maybe loses some to elite fighters bit we will see as I think he is so young and hits p4p slightly harder than Khan so he does have that going for him
The fundamental things are his problem and sadly these are those that are hardest to correct. He is eager to land and doesn't think his way through his work a lot of the time, just throws for the sake of throwing. Leaving himself open to anyone who has any kind of counterpunching ability and power, Teo would make him pay badly. No head movement He didn't establish any kind of lead foot to the outside against Campbell, he was eager to try and setup his left hook and positionally was in a defensivly bad position. He was on the front foot all night and Campbell let him fight that way, eventually, he did draw him onto his overhand left. Guard is leaky, throws from the chest at times, which is not an issue IF you position defensively well which he doesn't do a lot of the time. He did look like Khan a lot of the times last night, but Khan's 1,2 is better. Khan would see a gap he knew he could land in and get in and out no problem. Garcia is always there to be hit afterward. He was lifting his lead foot before throwing he was that eager to land. He has every physical attribute required to be a world champion level boxer, now he just needs to hone the skillset behind it. Easier said than done.
Kind of ironic that Garcia chose the same ring moniker as Amir Khan and he has so many similarities with him.
