    Thanks FOGEY!

I've actually seen several of these, but all too often, the last thing I think about when watching a fight is where it is.

Would you be up for sorting together a top ten list of the most historically significant venues?

I will try. I am going by big fights, not number of fights, and in the classic era up to 1960. You should be able to fill in your own list for the Las Vegas venues of recent decades.

    1. Yankee Stadium

    2. Polo Grounds

    3. Madison Square Garden

    4. Chicago Stadium

    5. Comiskey Park (most big Chicago fights held here)

    6. Philadelphia's Municipal Stadium

    7. White City Stadium, London

    8. Luna Park, Buenos Aires

    9. Palais des Sports, Paris

    10. Earl's Court, London

The top five I would be pretty confident on. It is hard to compare the top venues of foreign countries. You can judge where you want to put Ceasar's Palace, MGM Grand, etc in Las Vegas.

You forgot the GraveYard of Champions in that top ten list lol. That was a Champion's jinx. Evey champion that defended there LOST his title.

When I was watching the Benitez-Hearns fight at the Superdome, There was talk that a few defending champions lost thier titles, defending there & it was kind of bad luck. Ali to Spinks I believe. & of course Benitez lost it to Hearns. There were a couple of others, but I just can't recall thier names right now.

Correction: it was Spinks which lost his title to ALI in thier rematch. plus Duran Lost his WBC Welterweight title to Leonard in thier rematch.
