    Not to be that person, but, the nickname made perfect sense.


    English slang for someone who constantly run around, was bomber (the act of bombing around). And because of this, Herol picked up the name before he even boxed.

    Mike Tyson was called Kid Dynamite by boxing writers when he first turned pro but I don’t know if he or his team ever referred to him as that. Iron Mike was what he was introduced as in the fight intros as he was closing in on his title shot and during his first title reign but after he lost to Buster Douglas when he made his comeback, he decide that he wanted to be called Mighty Mike instead of Iron Mike. This was his ring intro name up to his last fight (against Razor Ruddock) before he was jailed in 1992. I don’t think he used that nickname ever again when he resumed boxing after his release.

    That I did not know. Only Englishman I have ever heard called that (besides Herol Graham) was some army general in the 2nd World War called Bomber Harris.
