So I was just reading Dan Rafael's latest blog on ESPN.com and in it he had a short interview with Bute. Thought it was interesting how Bute pretty much echoed what I said in a post yesterday concerning the Andrade controversy.

    ------------------------

Question: Many call your win over Andrade controversial because of what happened at the end of the fight. What are your thoughts about the way the fight ended?

Bute: I think it was not a mistake on my part. I just got so tired in that last round. A 126-pounder could have knocked me out, I was so tired. I learned from that experience. When I went down, there were four seconds left in the fight, so all I needed to do was stand up. There were eight seconds when I got to one leg. Whether the ref told Andrade to go back to his corner or not, it's irrelevant because with just four seconds left in the fight, I knew he couldn't hit me anymore. So I think the referee did the right thing.

Is Bute lurking on ESB?

I don't recognize Bute in that interview. I don't know if it was in french or in Romanian. Anyway, there was probably someone to translate it, and his words don't come out like Lucian's.

I don't think Bute answered any of those questions, laffie...it doesn't sound like him in Romanian either...:nono

...just one of those mock interviews that promoters/TV networks roll out to put their point of view across/hype the fight...;)

I expect Zuniga to give a good account of himself. With losses to Santos at 154, Pavlik at 160, and Inkin at168, I'm sure he knows this may be his last hurrah, and will fight accordingly. A loss here will probably mean the end of Zuniga getting big fights. Bute will survive some scary moments and win a clear UD is my predcition.

I just saw a training video fo Bute on Facebook. On that video, Bute practices his head movements. We don't see often that kind of training. They begin slowly, Bute has to move at least 4 or 5 times to avoid being hit, then they go faster and faster. Interesting. I think it's an asset of Bute we don't talk enough, his ability to fastly move his head. In fact, Bute is fast, feet, hands, head, everything moves fast.

I hate those. I like real things. If I liked faked things, there would be plenty of other entertainments I would enjoy: WWE for example. Boxing should play the authenticity card.
