HBO PPV Chavez-Martinez Rigondeaux-Marroquin Martinez-Beltran Jr Macklin-Alcine Showtime Alvarez-Lopez Gonzalez-Ponce De Leon Maidana-Soto Karass Showtime seems to have the better undercard fights but the HBO main even is obviously the biggest fight. Anyone know if these are the actually fights that are going to air?
I dont think Arum will care. He's going head to head with archrival GBP, and will probably try to have Chavez Jr vs Martinez main event start at the same time as Canelo's fight. similarly, GBP is probably aiming to make sure that Canelo's fight starts at the same time as Chavez Jr's. either way, Im watching both.
As much as I hate Bob Arum his card looks a lot better than Goldenboys Chavez V Martinez / Alvarez V Lopez Chavez and Martinez are rated 1 and 2 at Middleweight whilst Alvarez is ducking and dodging Erislandy Lara to fight career juniorwelterweight Josesito Lopez at Junior Middle . . . . Rigondeaux-Marroquin / Gonzalez-Ponce De Leon Actually the only fight Golden boy has to beat Top rank but still I would rather tune in to see Rigo defend his belt, bit torn between these two Then we have Maidana-Karass which has lost most of the mustard it would have had if Maidana didnt have his ass handed to him by a Matthysse leftover and Karass didnt get stopped previously so seeing Macklin get back to winning ways takes priority for me especially as he should have won the WBA belt by now.
Im buying Martinez-Chavez Jr... But I might have to flip the channel to Showtime for the Maidana fight and the De Leon fight!
you guys won't believe what I did.. My cable company had a 3 months free then 3 months discounted. I didn't want to pay the extra 20 for both HBO and Showtime...so I cancelled right away instead of waiting it to last before the next pay period. FML..I forgot that both cards were this Sat. So now I'm stuck. Probably gonna go with a friend and split on ppv or go to the bar that likes to show free boxing near the strip. (Not closed circuit)
