I agree that Floyd would stand Pavlik on his head.

It would be like Jones vs Ruiz, only a little closer.

If you don't mind humoring the whopping majority of us that don't live on the same island, what the hell does that even mean?

Basically Leeds is in Yorkshire and Liverpool is in Lancashire (strictly speaking).

See War of the Roses on Wikipedia :good

He's a good prospect but Akash Bhatia is in my opinion is a better prospect.

BTW anyone else think that we saw something special on SKY on Friday in Troy James' debut?

I don't care about doping. Its their problem, not mine. As long as the show is good.

Is this a legit beef or is it just a reference to a historical rivalry, or is it a soccer thing?

Joe Calzaghe is the most overrated fighter in history.

He has only truly excelled against quality opposition for half of one fight in his entire career - the second half of the Kessler fight. He beat the woefully overhyped and undertalented Lacy, he was outskilled by Hopkins but won because Hopkins had stamina/workrate issues as he is 43, and the rest of his career was spent beating handpicked opponents to protect the zero and build up a smoke and mirrors aura of greatness.

The guy is no artist, he is an artisan, he relies so much more on workrate and handspeed than genuine boxing skills. If he had fought Jones or Hopkins between 1997 and 2003, he would have been widely outclassed when they were both young enough to match his hallowed 'workrate'.

A good fighter, not a great one, but he has been truly great at fooling the majority of the boxing world into thinking he was a great through his career choices.

Marciano is overrated and wouldn't win the title in the 70's.

Vitali's cut was caused by a headbutt but he gets way too much credit for that loss and couldn't beat a unprepared Lewis.

DLH and fans lost there excuse to ***** about the decision going to Tito in those late rounds.

Prime James Toney's footwork was nowhere near the weakness people make it out to be.

    Reference to a historical rivalry.

Only tends to mean anything in harmless banter these days - but the two groups don't really need an excuse to fight in a bar or dislike each other generally :good
