JLC waiving me in, then leaving his hands down while I danced around like SRL potshotting him for 2 minutes then cracking 3 of my ribs. Holmes beating Cooney while I celebrate and the rest of the family gives me the evil eye. Douglas KO Tyson Foreman KO Moorer Holyfield Tyson 1 Tyzsu Judah Castillo being robbed vs Corralles after dropping him for 2 15 counts Vitali Lewis Wlad comeback v Peter Kovalev robbery v Ward GGG robbery v Alvarez
having to return two hundred some dollars to most everyone at a party, after they read the bs decision for Lewis-Holyfield one. haven't bet on a boxing match since.
Victor Ortiz quiting. "I dont deserve to be hit that way". Smh. Maidana getting up after Khan's bodyshot. Tito vs Vargas touching gloves. Tito says "Ahora es tiempo pa trabaja" (now its time to work). Gets me hype just thinking about it. Jeff Lacy getting the sh*t beat out of him by Calazghe. Thats all I think of right now
1. Watching Sal Sanchez dismantle Wilfredo Gomez on closed circuit tv in the old Felt Forum at MSG. Pure ecstasy. 2. Watching the naturally smaller Duran take it to Leonard in their 1st. That was the end of Cholo's prime. 3. Watching MAB embarrass Hamed while in my old local bar. That one was the prediction of which I was most certain. 4. Watching Hags blow out Tommy in one of the greatest fights I've ever seen. People forget Tommy was in serious trouble at the end of the 1st and the 2nd rounds.
Great thread KTFO6 and Castillo Corrales are the two boxing moments i'll never forget Outside of that.... Marquez, Froch and Calzaghe provided pretty much everything else that made me love this sport Froch was an unbelievably entertaining fighter to watch
Ward vs Gatti especially no 1 Marquez vs Pacman especially no 4 Froch vs Kessler 1 Froch vs Pascal Tyson vs Bruno (first pro fight I watched ) Cotto vs Margarito both (I loathe Margarito) Maidana getting robbed vs Mayweather Naseem vs Barera Etc
first world title fight i ever went to live i was 17 i lived in london east end hotbed of boxers and very knowledgable boxing fans at the time early 80s great build up charlie magri who came from just down the mile end road from me and british boxing was just coming out of a huge slump magri fans favourite / ko or be kod fighter for a flyweight had a big draw. went to wembley arena with about 15 others from west ham boys boxing club squeezed into a early 70s crappy old rust bucket. never having seen his opponent magri won on cuts / we were all happy in the van on they way home .
Good thread...my favorite moments were Lewis Holyfield fight Tyson Holyfield, both of them were epic in there own right! Danny Williams going on to Knock Mark Potter out with a dislocated shoulder, true warrior. Danny williams again beating Tyson then having a fight with Klitschko Lennox Lewis getting Knocked the fcuk out by Rahman Mike Tyson when he was walking the streets in Brixton, seriously it was amazing i remember it like yesterday, people were going nuts, he was like a god i swear! Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson fight. Yes it came years too late but the build up and atmosphere was out of this world. Also the Tyson and McBride fight too. Seeing Mike go out like that truly made me upset. Lewis Klitschko fight. People are still talking about it years after and people still get heated about, what a fight that was! Many more as well but cant be bothered to type anymore lol, probably the longest post ive done here, sorry if ive bored anyone I'll shut up now!
Several, but watching KTFO6 was epic. I was the only one in the house who believed the old man had it in him to beat Pacquiao. I had drawn out the #6 from the pot as well..$$$ And despite everyone thinking Pac was going to win, when he was KTFO6, the entire house erupted in a cheering roar simultaneously.
When Tito beat Joppy because of the ring...I could have kissed that sweaty jumping castlesque surface.
1.Gatti vs Ward 1, made me a fan 2.Pacquioa vs Marquez 4, fall of an idol 3.Klitschko vs Brewster 1, fall of an idol 4.Pacquiao vs Marquez 1, made me a fan of the lower weights 5.Monty Meza Clay vs Alan Herrera, unexpectedly good 6.Tonya Harding vs Paula Jones, funny 7.Charlie Chaplin "City Lights", funny
