I think prime David Tua beats prime Mike Tyson, and mops the floor with Joe Frazier.

Not to say that I think Tua is better than those two, but I think he beats them both head to head.

Bonavena does have a better chin than Tyson and he absorbs much the better of the two.

Tyson never was asked to absorb a lot in his fights and like lots of heavyweight punchers, dishes out a lot better than he absorbs. He sure does have a lot of ko by results on that record of his. Bonavena does not and often fought the house fighter and was a road warrior as well. The only time Tyson was even an underdog in a fight was the Lewis bout. How'd that one go anyway?

If Bonavena is nothing more than a crude slugger, where are all the ko by results anyway? He did have a ton of fights, right? The guy fought top 10 competition for 7-8 years and went in as an underdog in a lot of those fights. You'd think stoppages by cuts would be a factor even. Nope. He was one tough hombre and hardly an easy fight when guys signed a contract to fight him.

Another stick on victory for me just came to mind - don't know why I didn't think of it earlier - DEMPSEY OVER VLAD KLIT AND FAST - all I can see is Vlad against Corrie Sanders times by 100 (with a sprinkling of Brewster thrown in) mixed with Dempsey-Willard topped off with a sprinkling of Fred Fulton - very messy - you know how sometimes you can concede well yeah if they fought 10 times then maybe so and so would win a couple on certain nights - well this is one for me that I just can't ever see Vlad winning unfortunately (and I don't see it going more than 3.

i agree with a big majority of this , but if hagler had trouble with little leonard , what would happen to him against roid jones who was 156 as an amateur as opposed to leonard's 139 and began as a 160 as opposed to leonard's 147 and was about as quick and stronger ?
and i do not mean the gun-shy jones who barely outpointed hopkins , i mean the jones who fought sosa , thornton , pazienza , baptist and reggie johnson.
i also doubt duran beating chavez , i think it is a close fight until someone of them , maybe duran on some occasions , maybe chavez on others breaks the other.
and manny pacquiao would have stopped sanchez.
holyfield was scared of tyson in his prime , so were lewis and bowe.
all came out like worms after the rain when douglas knocked him out.
holyfield would have always falling short against lewis , although in close affairs , and duran could beat whitaker and i just mean 'could'.
hagler-monzon is hard to tell , so is holmes-lewis.

bowe would not have mopped the floor with lewis , and tyson would have beaten ali , because he was stronger the frazier.
lewis already stopped bowe in the amateurs , and bowe knew what he was doing when choosing to duck him his entire career.
i heavily doubt mayweather and whitaker beating every 140 in history.

why because he also had a great chin and eliminated almost every other contender and future champion of his era that did not avoid him ?
had chagaev or ibragimov fought him he'd KO either one of them inside 2 too.
