Great thread. Prime Lennox beats prime Tyson, pac beats floyd in 2009. There is no excuse regarding weight why floyd shouldn't fight Alvarez as they both hold a JMW belt.

I would be inclined to agree here.

Mayweather in Top 30 - this is an opinion I do not agree with.

Of course you would. Based on what exactly? The fact that he was old time fighter?

That a hungry and completely prime Hasim Rahman could beat any heavyweight in history except Mike Tyson.

May not be very strange but i dont think any fighter at light heavy to Middle would stop James Toney.

Probably my strangest is my belief that chins can improve with age, maturity and increased weight. Too often it's taken for granted that everything deteriorates, but I've seen too many examples of fighters packing on the pounds and finding their punch resistance has gone up. I also think that a general thickening/maturing of the body that occurs in the mid thirties can work wonders for one's punch resistance, though by that stage most boxers are physically wrecked.

Yeah I thought it wouldn't be strange, more an opinion than a strange one.

Was going to say anyone under 200 pounds but I couldn't remember if Joe Louis was sub 200 pounds or close to 200 pounds:lol:

    Totally agree.

George Foreman, Thomas Hearns and Pernell Whitaker are three perfect examples.

Floyd Patterson had absolutely no chin problems whatsoever for a man his size. There simply were no chin issues with him. He just got knocked down a lot competing above his best weight class with an aggressive, risky style against naturally bigger men and got stopped by two legendary punchers and a prime version of the general consensus GOAT of the division. So what? Sod off. His chin was perfectly fine for someone that could compete in the Super Six at 168. Everyone who disagrees can kiss my grits. :bart Anyone think Carl Froch doesn't get flattened by Sonny fokin' Liston? Huh? HUH?!!!
