What are your thoughts and opinions on the following fighters?

Andrew Golota - total headcase, waste of physical talent

Joe Calzaghe - underrated, except in the UK, probably will retire undefeated, but will be forgotten shortly afterwards, as he did not make enough big fights happen

Roberto Duran - one of the greatest ever.

O'Neil Bell - above average cruiserweight

Diego Corrales - good heart and power at 135, but usually came up short in big fights

Carlos Monzon - one of the few fighters to met the expectations of his talent

Jake LaMotta - another headcase would probably could have achieved more

Micky Ward - accomplished a lot with a little

Samuel Peter - most overrated heavyweight in recent history

 

Andrew Golota - gets too much respect on this site

Joe Calzaghe - deserves every bit of respect he gets on this site

Roberto Duran - met him at the Holyfield/Bates fight. Really nice dude.

Diego Corrales - Gone too soon.

Jake LaMotta - Robert Deniro is a good actor.

Micky Ward - He & Gatti had some great fights, and are both consequently overrated.

Samuel Peter - THE most overrated HW right now. Has much power, but is extremely limited as a boxer. Beat the previously most overrated HW, James Toney, to win the overrated title. If the Maskaev fight happens, he will lose.

 

Andrew Golota - Once a very talented fighter with a great left jab. If only he could handle pressure better.

Joe Calzaghe - A great fighter (ability wise) who still has to prove himself to be an all time great fighter (accomplishment wise). Unorthodox, great timing, great speed, throws excellent combinations, great footwork. A win over Kessler would cement his legacy as the best EVER at 168.

Roberto Duran - Perhaps the greatest lightweight of all time. One of the most complete fighters in boxing history who could do it all. Tough as nails and as skilled as they come. Just when you thought it was over, he would come back and surprise you. A top 5-10 all time great.

O'Neil Bell - Big puncher with a lot of heart. Could become the cruiserweight champion again. From what it seems, he is crazy outside of the ring.

Diego Corrales - Exemplified the word "courage." Was boxing's true warrior who was willing to die in the ring. One of the most powerful lightweights I have ever seen. God bless his family and may Chico rest in peace.

Carlos Monzon - One of the top 4 middleweights of all time (you could make a case for number 1). Not the most exciting fighter, but knew distance and was extremely efficient. Could take a punch and had a brutal right hand. Strong as an ox. I would listen to anybody who made an argument saying he was the most dominant latin champion of all time.

Jake LaMotta - Rough and tough, underrated skill wise. One of the 5 best chins in boxing history and an all time great middleweight.

Micky Ward - Tough fighter with a great left hook to the body. Win or lose, he gave it his all, which is all you can ask out of a fighter.

Samuel Peter - Real strong with heavy hands and an iron chin. Limited skill wise, but is improving in important areas. Needs to start getting his body into punches because he throws arm punches a lot.

 

Andrew Golota needs a hug.

Joe Calzaghe is poised and ready to pass his torch.

Roberto Duran has a mediocre promotional stable.

O'Neil Bell - rubbermatch?

Diego Corrales, RIP.

Carlos Monzon had a halfway decent record.

Jake LaMotta, how's he doing these days?

Micky Ward, probably not the new trainer of champions.

Samuel Peter believes in evil hoodoo spirits.

You know he trained on cigarettes and booze, right? He was among the least disciplined champions ever.

 

Andrew Golota: talented headcase with a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Joe Calzaghe: very good fighter whom I dislike and hope Kessler knocks out.

Roberto Duran: one of the greatest and most complete fighters ever. Unfortunately, I find quite a good number of his fights to be tedious and ugly, actually because of his great in-fighting skill. Guys held him a lot.

O'Neil Bell: entertaining fights with Mormeck

Diego Corrales: one of my favorites. His first fight with Castillo is my all-time favorite fight.

Carlos Monzon: scumbag, but one of the greatest middleweights ever. Ugly style, although I liked his KO of Nino in the 1st fight.

Jake LaMotta: great movie about him, but people think of him as a defenseless slugger with a huge punch b/c of the film, when he was in fact actually known for being a crafty guy with pretty good skills (and not too big of a punch).

Micky Ward: entertaining fight involved in some great matches (but his trilogy with Gatti is overrated).

Samuel Peter: I really don't think he's very special or good.

 

Monzon had a good punch. Not a huge puncher, but he hit pretty hard with very good accuracy.

LaMotta wasn't much of a big puncher.
