Kirkland defines entertainment. I think he has a good shot at Canelo if he gets past Molina.

Kirkland is a southpaw Tyson without the Tyson skills. He truly is a beast, but against an elite boxer like Lara or elite boxer puncher like Cotto all Kirkland has is a punchers chance. Vs Angulo he got lucky Angulo gassed out and he became a sitting duck so he was able to box him and set him up. Kirkland didnt rush the stoppage and took control that's how champions fight, but I still get the sense he got alil lucky vs Angulo. He did impress with adapting in a fight, but he was still getting too reckless reason why he got dropped in the first place. He's a fan friendly fighter like Angulo so in a way I won't complain too much, but I don't see him on Lara's or Cottos level.

His weak chin will prevent him from beating the a) sharp, crisp accurate counters and/or b) power punchers of the division. His ferocious pressure and heavy hands will clearly outdo many in the division though. Sort of like Molina. Molina is really good at what he does but I don't see him being able to slip or defend Kirkland's shots in any way and, I think it'll be tough for anybody to stand up to Kirklands' shots. To beat him, I largely believe you've got to get him out of there quickly.

From guys amongst the tops at 154 who I would pick Kirkland to defeat:
    Dzinziruk
    Mundine
    Angulo II
    P. Williams
    Spinks
    Molina
    Martirosyan

Guys at 154 who I would pick to beat Kirkland:
    Alvarez
    Cotto
    Lara

Guys who I would say are close to me calling it 50/50 one way or the other:
    Trout
    Bundrage
    D. Rodriguez

Ishida fight, hadn't he just fought 2 or 3 week before. He could have been just worn down, now its glass jaw even after he took the punch from Angulo got up and won. NO I THINK THIS POSTER IS THE JOKE.

I think the "glass jaw" things are a little stupid. His defence is POOR which means he's open to BIG shots, like against Ishida. Like against Angulo. His chin is AVERAGE, it's not glass. If it WAS he wouldn't have come back and took Angulo's bombs.

Any fighter apart from those with god given iron jaws can be knocked out. I think he'll lose to fast accurate boxers, and probably win in slugfests.

No, he had fought a month before against a bum that was his comeback fight. He took him out in one round. Ishida was a handpicked opponent that was supposed to make him look good and keep him busy, and a month in between fights is not too busy. He was supposed to be "safe" opponent because it is a well-known fact that Ishida is as feather fisted as they come.

Also, the Angulo fight is further proof of his Glass Jaw. He was wobbled by a Jab and put on his ass within thirty seconds of the opening bell. That doesn't help make your case that he doesn't have a shitty Chin. Had Angulo not punched himself out on Kirkland's gloves and arms while he was huddled up on the ropes in a complete defensive shell he would have had him out of there. Fortunately for Jelly Jaw James, Angulo didn't have the Boxing IQ to pick his shots and let the KO come on its own.

What color is the sky in your world?:rofl:patsch

A fighter with even an average Chin would not go down to a Jab from a feather fisted Japanese guy with all of seven KOs to his name. He has no defense AND no Chin.

Kirkland is a "Kill or Be Killed" type of fighter. That's what he is. The racism on this board is pathetic. You guys will praise a "kill or be killed" type fighter like Katsidis who is levels below Kirkland, but are quick to disrespect Kirkland. AND Kirkland ain't he even the flashy type. Yall suppose to hate the confident cocky flashy black athletes. Yall hate the humble types too huh?

I don't give a **** what anybody says, nobody with a "glass jaw" gets up from the shot Angulo hit him with.

There is no if, he is gonna knock Molina out. Aint nothing wrong with who he is right now but I disagree with him only being noted as a puncher. He has boxing skills and he is improving at a fast clip. Watch the whole fight and dont dwell on the knockout and you will see him display boxing skills as well. The surest way to know that a fighter got game is when everybody is ducking him. He ate Angulos best shot and got right back up and you know what happened after that.Name me one fighter that dont have a flaw and one fighter that cant have his head handed to him. Aint no such animal ( Although Mayweather is close :yep) If you dont like him then you just dont like him but his destiny is to be champion.:bbb

Kirklands the man, you never know whats gonna happen, he's got the Julian Jackson syndrome (obviously nowhere near Jacksons power or talent but you get the idea). On any given night he can Knock you the **** out of victim of a KO, either way he's going to war for it which gets even more respect from me being someone with a shaky beard who wars with everyone!!

he's basically 50/50 with anyone at 154 who isn't Mayweather or Lara IMO

I think if he gets past Molina then basically he should be looking to get a shot at a title.....maybe K9 I'm sure he'd fight him....I'd even like to see him vs Canelo.

Despite his flaws he is damn exciting to watch and after what GBP tried to pull on him in Mexico he should get a bit more exposure he is good for boxing win, lose or draw.
