What Are Your Thoughts On The Chavez Vs. Taylor I Stoppage?

You have any link for that. Not doubting you just want to read it would be interesting. Didn't know that. Shame about Taylor makes me sad to think of what can happen to guy once considered a physical speciman to be reduced to a mumbling mess.

Also aren't Boxers supposed to put their hand together to SHOW that they are ready to go!, Taylor had his left hand in the top rope, as if he was having trouble standing up, I'm sure that had a lot to do with the referees decision.

Still we all know Taylor won most rounds, the KO doesn't change that.

 

I can see why people get upset at it but I think it was right. Taylor had looked hurt & exhausted for a round or two beforehand - even falling over after swinging a wild hail mary sort of punch - he only got up by using the ropes to help him and he was asked if he was alright twice & didn't repond. At any other point that would be considered a decent stoppage.

The fact that it happened so late in the fight and Meldrick was ahead is not something that should have influenced the referees decision on whether it should be a stoppage or not. In my opinion, if it would be a stoppage at the end of an earlier round then it should be treated the same if it is late in the 12th.
