I've become a fan of the UFC over the last few years, I'm starting to appreciate the technical side of MMA now I understand what Im watching. If Dana makes cards in the boxing world like he does with the UFC he will be a success but he seems like he has a full plate over there already. I doubt he's going to come over to boxing.
This. He'd have to pay boxers good money. If this happens though, I wouldn't be shocked to see Holm fighting Taylor.
MMA isn't just UFC The best can't fight the best when they are in different organisations. UFC champions can fight the highest ranked contenders but with the rankings system the more crowd pleasing fighters move up the rankings much quicker or at least fan favourites. When is Tony Fergusen going to get a shot, why did Bisping defend his title against 50 year olds, his reign was worse than Wilders.
Boxing, especially in America, needs a good kick up the ar*e. Dana seems a good businessman and straight talking - basically the opposite of fishnets DLH- so may be the man to do it. Good luck to him.
True. Its kinda like in house fighting in boxing. Top Rank has/had its own little welterweight roster and PBC has its own.
Ferguson is now the interim champ. Bisping fought GSP, who was the favorite. Those are rare occurrences.
Depends on what Dana White's business plan is. Will he bring something new to professional boxing? So far the most innovative things I have seen in professional boxing during my lifetime is the World Series of Boxing and some kind of weird boxing where the boxers didn't compete in a ring.
The current big name promoter are as sleazy and corrupt as any that have come before them. So why should anyone care who becomes a promoter. If Dana White can make a good fight card then he should.
Boxing promoting is a whole different ball game man. For the most part in UFC you’re promoting within a single promotion where to an extent what you say, goes. In boxing everyone’s got their own promotions and fighters are seemingly less eager to fight in comparison to UFC. Boxing is also (slightly) more elegant; you can’t have those crazy ott UFC press conferences to drum up hype. But Dana White has an eye for talent clearly which boxing desperately needs right now
