Mine are to drop 25lbs, spar more, improve footwork and work on counter punching out when getting flurried on. What are yours?
I actually wrote these out the other day, basically just to improve on everything and develop as a fighter. Good luck in your first fight Scott-Robson.
Get my first amateur fight out of the way...they actually have a sign up at my gym for a Florida vs Georgia type event on the 15th of this month but i'm not ready yet, even if they do match weight/experience. Get my stamina up. I hate gassing during mitt drills. I'm going to start working more cardio in. Get more sparring in so I can get more used to moving around the ring. I feel pretty good about it, I found out one of the guys i sparred had 16 pounds on me and I was handling him pretty well.
Footwork: I want to learn a few more footwork tricks. I've found that the greater part of boxing is being in position to score at all times. Handspeed: I'm slow. Good footwork will make me seem faster, but I want to increase my handspeed as well. Want to become more of a combination puncher/swarmer. Leg Endurance: I want to have some spring in my legs for the whole fight. Helps with power, footwork, everything. Anaerobic Work Capacity: I need to be able to punch nonstop for the whole fight. Basically, I have good power and a solid chin. But that's not a lot of good unless I'm a pressure fighter. So the main thing is gonna be cardio so I can just plow forward swinging like crazy. Also: the goal is to have 9 fights this year and turn open class.
after months of shoulder problems iv got a specialist appointment coming up, then the aim is to get back to the gym, get straight back to sparring! and hopefully get back to where i was over 6 months ago and nearly ready for my first fight!
Ah mann.. After like a year of not being in the gym and another year of being off and on, my main goal is to stick to it! I love boxing but sometimes I just get sidetracked by school and other things but now I'm focused on remaining in the gym. Secondly, I want to lose alot of my body fat & tone up. I fight at 165 but I make that rather easily and think I could maybe push for 152. Lastly, increase my stamina.. by like 100 fold! lol. I want to pick up my endurance and stamina greatly. Oh, and get some experience under my belt I'm registered to fight in the 84th annual Daily News Golden Gloves but I only have 2 fights and am still a novice despite many years of training (on/off).
better my leg endurance,, do more roadwork and perfect the lean back from the jab and counter with the straight right mayweather style
