froch is 31 years old and cant keep taking punches at a world class level forever

he should fight kessler, bute, abraham, calzaghe, andrade and maybe hopkins or dawson and then retire a more legit world champ than joe was

afree...guys a true warrior with a lion heart.... but really needs to improve his defence which currently consists of blocking shots with his chin.......and what's with the low left hand.....that style is alright against B level fighters....but at the top level unless you have prime RJJ reflexes and are really quick....(carl froch has neither)....you will get KTFO...regardless of how hard your chin is..... he needs to really change his style or at least adapt it..... he's old in age but very naive fight wise

i hope he really learns that his current style at elite level will win very few fights even if he is tough as nails.... he MUST work on his defence

No wonder Froch has such good staminia - he probably spends day and night nailing his bird!

Froch was nearly KO'd in the 3rd round you Yorkshire sheep-shagger. If Taylor wasn't a 10 round fighter that would have been an easy UD win. Taylor wasn't even hurt in the fight until he gassed out in the 11th.

I ended up waking up at 4:30 am and checking the result on Setanta Sports News. Not exactly what I had imagined or planned when I started the Froch-Taylor 'journey'.

:lol:Froch was nailed flush with a massive right in the 3rdand came right back with his own and a grin.Yes he went down after takin some heavy shots but his eyes were crystal clear, never in danger of not beatin the count and nowhere near bein ko'd dickhead.Taylors 17 ko's from 28 wins suggests he just might have a fair dig on him, to which Pavlik would prob agree. And to say he's a 10 round fighter when, if he'd seen the final bell last night, it would of been the 10th time he's gone the 12 is just dumb:-(
It's a mental thing with Taylor and i think Froch might also have had somethin to do with him gassing out as you put it.
And since when has Burnley been in ****in Yorkshire you thick ****

Don't be an even thicker typical northern ******.
Taylor's last KO was Joppy in 2004 5 years ago. He's never been a hard puncher but he put Froch on his ass. The first top class opponent froch faces and he was dropped. Froch's chin is nothing special and his power is way overrated, they have only looked good against the previous 22 bums he fought.

:goodYeah sorry mate you must be right. Taylor was well past it and could'nt punch his way out of a paper bag. That was a pathetic performance from Froch and he'll get ktfo next time he fights anyone decent. Reckon Gary Lockett should get a shot at him eh he'd twat him.
Do you know ****all about the fight game nob head.

Power - Good. Very heavy handed, considering he hasn't got any real hand speed and doesn't snap his punches, he's just a heavy handed guy. I don't think he has genuine one punch knockout power, but very few guys do, however he can stun a guy with one punch and on accumulation it's damaging.

Chin - Very, very good. Yes he got put down but I think Taylor's power is under-rated. I mean take the Pavlik fight, Hopkins throw everything at him, landed at will and couldn't hurt him. He took shots off Miranda aswell, yet Taylor had him on ***** street in round 2 of their first fight and should of finished him. It was also a combination and to me he didn't seem visibly hurt. He was taking punches all night and still stayed in their.

Stamina - Excellent. Considering like TFFP said, he throws so many hayemakers and big punches, his work rate is also pretty decent and more importantly pretty consistent. To be able to finish a fight like that in the final minutes of a tough fight shows the energy he still had left in the tank, I think his stamina is going to be key to many fights now, I honestly think this sort of thing may happen again, perhaps a few times, where he just outlasts guys and breaks them down late.

Speed - Not great by any means. But he does put a lot into his punches. I think that's perhaps the reason why he regards himself as a counter puncher and why he tries to counter punch, so he has enough time to land with his opponent vulnerable to counters, rather than trying to create gaps himself because opponents have enough time to react.

It would definately keep your stanima. Last night proved to me that he definately belongs at that level fair enough his technique flawed but he likes to have a good scrap. Taylor did well and listening to the commentry showed why he his a good fighter. He can bang as his power has defintely come through.
