    Because losing an extra 5 lbs of fluid is the better part of a gallon of liquid. Think about that. MOST OF A GALLON of fluid. It's a lot more than you lose just by donating blood. Would you even consider fighting right after you donated blood? I don't think so, you'd be too weakened. Now what happens when you lose far more fluid than that? Exactly. Don't be obtuse.

    If Golovkin was comfortable getting down to 155 without killing himself he wouldn't be at 160, he'd be fighting at 154. There's a reason he's at 160, because he's too big for junior middle. If Pollo Rojo is a real junior middle, that's fine, but he needs to go there and stop faking it at "155" which is not a weight class.

    I'm amazed that people don't see this as a clear attempt by Pollo Rojo to drain and weaken all his potential middleweight opponents who are actual 160 lb, middleweight fighters. I don't want to see that. I want to see two guys, fully hydrated, at their best contesting the belt at the top of their abilities, not one guy at 100% and the other looking like a zombie because he had to lose extra weight.

    If Pollo Rojo cannot win without making the playing field unlevel, then he doesn't deserve to win.

    That's his problem. He has to accept the risk involved, because it's for a middleweight championship and the middleweight limit is at 160. If he doesn't want to be a middleweight and take that risk, then move the #@$% back down to 154. You want the reward? Fine, but you have to accept the risk involved as well. That's how it works.

    I can tell you this though, fighting somebody like Khan isn't going to do anything to prepare him for 160lbs fighters. So he obviously has no interest in fighting true 160 lbs fighters, in which case, he needs to vacate, because he clearly has no intent of preparing himself for that.

    El Pollo Rojo & his Black fishnet "advisor" need to stop holding the WBC & lineal title to ransom . The Wbc needs to do the right thing for once & demand The Chicken defend his title @ 160 against Golovkin or admit he's a coward & slither back down to 154.
    I have many Hispanic friends here & they are united in disowning him . One long time boxing fan Jesus said " He's not Mexican we do not have red hair & all REAL Mexican fighters have big cojones he doesn't "

    The official weight limits are....

    Light Middleweight = 154 pounds

    Middleweight = 160 pounds

    Canelo fought for the MIDDLEWEIGHT title he won & claims to be champion. So he must defend that title at 160 limit against the #1 contender or be a coward & relinquish it. The WBC MUST insist on this happening next. if Canelo beats Khan, or they just prove to all how CORRUPT!! they are. Sad part is everyone knows theyre corrupt already

    Perfectly put. Only problem is, though, that the WBC will only do that which makes them the most money regardless of how unscrupulous they appear to be.
