Gene Tunney married money & one of his boys grew up to be a senator. Max Schmelling did very well outside of the ring, I read somewhere he helped out Louis when he had money problems.
Lewis, Calzaghe, Hatton should be doing OK. Maske is doing OK, he owns a number of MCDonalds fast food joints in Germany, I believe he has 150 employees. Wasted a lot of their money: Michaelczewski ("I wasted around $20 million on booze and whores") and Ottke. En route to becoming broke unless his career turns around soon: Abraham. Lives a big lifestyle, gives away tons of money to his family. Big house, Ferrari, a small airplane etc. Many athletes have no clue how to manage money, they never had to manage their own wealth and often live a lifestyle that is far too large for their bank roll. Many don't realize they'll have to live off their bank account and (low) interest/investment income for the rest of their lifes with no (or very little) additional income. I guess many dumb athletes also overspend, and ridiculously so. If you have a couple millions you can live like a Russian billionaire. You can pretend for a while that you can, but it won't last. If you have $20 million in the bank you're a fool if you buy a mansion for $10 million because that adds a solid $300,000 or so in annual expenses in property taxes, insurance and maintenance. Then they "invest" the remaining $10 million into ventures with friends (the infamous celebrity run restaurants that end up being huge money pits) and after living like a rock star for 10 years much of the money can be gone.
Lewis and Leonard for sure. Schmeling bought one of the first Coke franchises in Germany and made a killing after he retired. Big George must lead the field though: "In 1999, Foreman signed a $137.5 million deal with Salton Inc. (recently merged with Applica Incorporated), entitling the grill manufacturer to global" http://www.successmagazine.com/Big-Business-with-Big-George/PARAMS/article/557
