It’s an internet boxing forum, people are allowed to express there opinion, we were promised the next Mohammed Ali not some bum that says he’s 26 but in reality is about 40

I think the truth on balance is somewhere in themiddle. Yes Billy deserves praise and respect overall. But equally there is nogetting Away from the fact that he went waaay over the top about bakole. No use saying to his critics " but you're not a boxing coach" . That's nonsense . .You don't need to be a plumber to know you've got a leak if you're up to your knees In water!!!

I've known fighters who looked true class in the gym but just couldn't repeat it on the night itself. Bakole could fit into that pattern.

As for the fight, I think maybe Bakole fell for his own hype. He just had to turn up and this guy would fall over. When that didn't happen he just didn't want to know.

In between rounds for practically the whole fight Billy was having to convince this man to bite down on the gumshield and actually fight. He may or may not have had an injury, but I think Billy did the right thing. The big lump wanted to quit, if he had any chance of a future in the game he had to stick it out and have a go.

After hearing the hype surrounding Bakole i am in shock at how bad he actually is....

He is a great big unit no doubt about that but he cannot box to save his life.!!He was absolutely awful

Dubois would destroy him in seconds ,Dave Allen would smash him too ....

To be fair to the Scotch Pie he was trying his hardest to get Bakole going but he looked mentally shot to pieces after about 4 rounds

You win you lose, thats sport.

It all depends where Bakole goes from here lets hope he learns from it and it improves him as boxer.

Is there a repeat off the fight on tonight ?

Was looking forward to seeing if the hype was warranted.

    Bakole was awful, absolutely awful.

No offence , but this is exactly the way it works in the real world.

We as fans of boxing may have a better GENERAL knowledge in terms of remembering BASIC facts than say Billy Nelson.

Yet as far as the prerequisite skill set and knowledge required to work within the industry at the highest level Billy's KNOWLEDGE BASE is above 99.99% of others.

People who are at the top level in their chosen field are there because they add the most value in that specific job.

I'm sure Shaun Wallace from the chase knows more basic facts about football than even Jose Mourinho.

The odds of him replacing Mourinho as United manager are zero.

Keeping on the Football analogy Arsene Wenger once signed Amaury Biscboff, who played all of 26 minutes in Premiership. Does that one error in judgement take away from all his past achievements ?

Billy having faith and belief in a fighter he trains/manages does not make him a lair , it makes him human.

Fantastic post. I'm sick of this boxing fanism where 1 win means you're the world's greatest ever and 1 setback means you're the worst to ever do the sport.

Bakole didn't look good last night, infact he looked awful at times, but there were little cute instances where he looked to adapt. I have no doubt in my mind in sparring against heavy, less stationary boxer he looks alot better.

Could be a case of a boxer who just can't handle the pressure of big fights. They are all human afterall.

    Just terrible matchmaking.

Why on earth would you put him in with an Olympian like Hunter who looked very good vs Usyk before he gassed.

A complete unknown quantity at HW, yet you match him together when there's a plethora of domestic and european level matchups to be made at HW.

Whoever made this matchup fked up bad.

I posted during the fight that speed kills cos it was obvious from middle of the fight that Bakole was missing so many shots he was getting tired and frustrated and there was no way back apart from a lucky punch. I’ve never seen a fighter of such hype miss so many punches it was embarrassing.

The puzzling thing for me is how you can go into a fight of such importance not being able to last more than a minute of the round without blowing out of his arse. I read from another poster that they believed in their own hype and it was just a case of turning up and I totally agree with that comment.

You have to be fit in this sport cos it’s gonna be tough the further you get into it and you’ll one day really depend on that fitness level.

Would be interesting to see if we get the normal fighter in hospital bed photo posted soon with operation gown on and commenting “ shoulder surgery went well can’t wait to be back soon “ with this one. Let’s see.....

It is mainly Bakole taking flak for what was arguably the worst performance seen from a British Heavyweight in a British ring since the days of Audley.

Billy is entitled to his opinion and if you read the posts on the thread BEFORE the fight, I stated he sometimes gets it wrong.

No problems with Billy in the corner last night as he done all he could to motivate his man during the fight.
