He might actually be the king

I’d love to have seen Azuhma fight Mario with a good hand. Martinez was set to box Nelson’s ears off and started off great.

Luis might have beat Griffith 4 times. But it depends who you ask.

Mike, I wasn't aware of Gianfranco winning any rematches. Were you thinking of Paolo Rosi?

Maybe not the king but Holyfield usually did better.

And Fury is now proposing a rubber match vs Chisora? Yikes! Fury vs Usyk is THE fight to be made - how hard is that? Mucho talking and not nearly enough fighting. I also read/heard that Usyk might move back down to CW. Whaaat? Say it ain’t true Oleksandr!

Lennox might not have the quantity but the quality of his two extreme reversals at the highest level (and the associated widespread exposure of this reversals) ranks very well.

Very much a HUGE feather in his ATG cap - the ability to come back from extreme adversity and in a BIG way - particularly the way he levelled Rahman, a KO garnished with the patented Ingo foot twitch (not to have wished harm upon either man but damn, it was like their respective foots, being the only animate part of their bodies, were sending a morse code message to say “Yes, I’m nearly dead but, not quite”.

I’m not sure I would put Lennox on this list. Yeah he avenged Rahman and it was an incredible Ko. But Mccall was unfit to be in the ring. And 2 fights are an extremely small sample size to be on this list with the likes of Joe Louis and some others. Perhaps if he had rematched and beaten Mercer and Vitali I could see it.

Oh yeah, I like Louis as # 1 or right up there amongst the best. His rematches indicated a distinct learning curve and highly successful, modified application of himself.

For Lewis, and through no fault of his own, the McCall example is a bit dissatisfying for obvious reasons but I think Lewis wasn’t going to allow lightning to strike twice at the hands of a fit or unfit McCall - though Lennox did allow two strikes in his whole career against different opponents.

As they say, “Fool me once…..”, or whatever it was the great elocutor George W Bush said…

Barrera did pretty good in rematches
against Junior Jones he performed better than the 1st fight where he got man handled in the 5th
he beat Morales in fights 2 and 3
he was more tactical in Pacquaio 2
made the adjustments in the 2nd Rocky Juarez fight

Yes agreed. McCall seemed his usual self for a while but went downhill pretty quick when Lewis wouldn't play ball.

Y'know something scar, regaining the crown from the guy who defeated him wasn't Rosi's thing, like it was Wajima,...you're right! Rosi won the WBC and the IBF baubles a number of times, but on no occasion did he regain it from the guy who first beat him. My creaky old memory let me down here, lol. Thanks for the correction, my man.
