What about before those 2 years, I remember you saying you gained 50 or 60 pounds by lifting.

2 years ago i was around 210-215lbs. For some reason i filled out and im now 240-243. But then i am 30 now and reaching muscle maturity. Prior to that as a teen i was 170lbs.

some machines are beneficial but not others
with bicep curls there is nothing wrong with it unless you "bodybuild" them
i do them for the purpose of strengthening the bicep tendon, not to build them up
when you draw back your hand after a punch you use this tendon, and i believe it's a safe bet to strengthen them to protect against injury
this is a high speed plyometric movement basically
it's bull**** though that u must lift to failure to gain strength

there is nothing wrong with it if you intend to build up for the purpose of moving up in weight class, but if your already at the top end of your weight and don't want to move up in weight then it's just plain dumb

i don't see how the hell mayweather or oscar could have moved up 4 or 5 weight divisions without lifting weights!
if they didn't do that then how did they get bigger?
    by eating too much?

Eating loads woud be my guess... If they ain't doing weights it would be harder to gain... but I think they just cut less weight rather than put weight on for the first couple classes.

In fairness, all those bench presses and curls would make Ricky very strong at hugging and tying up his opponent.

Ricky Hatton has a terrible strength coach. I'm not saying he's terrible at everything, but he is here. Let's break down his weekly split (which is kind of weird in first place).

monday: random leg ****... just do squats and deadlifts.

tuesday: chest/biceps... just do regular bench press and sup-rows or chinups

thursday: back... pullups (seriously... what the hell)

friday: shoulders/triceps... military press and dips.

Boxers also benefit tremendously from doing strongman/grip-training training too, so why none of that?

His diet is perhaps even worse. Loads of supplements, not much nutrients from natural food.
