You mentioned Ingo in your post - therefore you get an immediate “like” from me.

Seriously though, even if for nothing else, he’s a terrific example for one of the best straight hands - and he always put that extra oomph in the first big right he patiently waited for….the follow ups were good but essentially thrown just to finish the job.

Ali didn’t have a shabby, straight across the chest, right hand. George Foreman would approve this message.

Deontay has some windmill KO's but he also has some devastating straight right KO's or KO's that came after lethal straight rights set the table... Ethan, Liakhovich, Long, Arnold, Stiverne, Molina

It's not the best in terms of technique by any stretch of the imagination, and he often telegraphs or leaves himself open, but the results speak for themselves. Wilder definitely is up there for best straight right hands in the divisions history and no lower than top 5 in terms of raw destructive power. It's just stupefyingly powerful.

Lewis threw plenty of overhands but when he threw it straight it was devastating.

Historian Hank Kaplan stated about Lewis - "He had the greatest straight right hand in the history of the heavyweight division. And I would dare anyone to challenge that. He could do all the things the small guys could do, and he still had the size."

For me Joe Louis is the gold standard personally. Among the non one punch guys i like Ali's "sizzling" right cross as well as Schmeling's which was extremely educated.

Joe Louis for me in all the attributes of straight right hand, as far as combining speed, timing, power, and least telegraphed.
But Ali is very close in everthing except power. Also Ali could lead with it, which is extremely hard to do against a pro opponent from the orthodox stance.

Why not just pick foreman then instead of Ali?

Perhaps a misread? I’m saying Foreman would acknowledge that Ali had an excellent straight right hand, George certainly got clocked with plenty in Zaire.
