What Boxing Book are u reading at the moment???

Wow bet that's an interesting read, wonder what it says about the Gans fight?

 

The best boxing book Ive ever read is Dick Turpin's autobiography (Randy Turpin's lil borther). Great book.

 

You'll have to lend me that Mclarnin book if it's any good.

 

The McLarnin book isn't a bad read actually, shitty title though

 

Randolph Turpin is the youngest, there's never been a book about Dick the oldest. The book your reffering too is about middle brother Jackie, who was still alive when the book was written, that way the author got some good info on all three Turpins. Jackie is the Smallest, not the youngest!

The Fight by Norman Mailer is a good read, it's about Ali-Foreman.

Evander Holyfield's autobiography is good but it's painful the way he keeps going on about how he wont retire.

Ricky Hatton's is alright but he brought it out way to early.

 

I thought The Fight was really good. Mailer was there in Zaire and it's a good read, there's some good bits in it about one of Foreman's sparring partner's, I cant remember his name.

i liked hattons autobiography but **** me, i got sick of him referring to himself as a "regular bloke" etc alllll the ****ing time. we gettit mate. and this was before i used forums, this opinion was formed by myself and not affected by anyone else's view

 

I didn't think too much of Hatton's to be perfectly honest. It's just a constant reminder that he is a working class guy that likes beer and fried breakfast. :tired It also says a lot of bull**** which he has completely gone against. He says if he ever lost he'd never blame his trainer etc. :yep He probably didnt even write it.

I thought it was decent, but it was ironic all the stories about him and Billy Graham and how much he loved him, and then ****ed off afterwards

 

Just finished Dark Trade- Absolutely brilliant book. Gonna start Cinderella Man next i reckon.
