What Boxing Book are u reading at the moment???

The Jem Mace book "Master of the Ring" is the same. Great book and well researched but the writer clearly fell a bit in love with his subject and never concedes he's at fault in any aspect of his (very colourful!) life.

 

I was going to buy that but it was like 40quid where i seen it.

 

i paid £4.50 i think.

That sounds more like it.

They are expensive for a reason. He spent years on it, and it's a specialist book.

 

im not surprised he took so long, even reading the intro and how he come to hear of Greb gets u excited:yep

I just finished it at lunch time. It is very lightweight, taking all of two hours to read. Although very easy to read, it is just so disappointing if that is all there is available about Greb, evidence wise.

Do you mean you skimmed through the book in two hours or read it cover to cover in two hours?

I normally manage around forty or so pages in an hour when reading at the boozer.

I've not seen the Greb book at under £30 which is way to much for me to pay.

 

The book is pretty lightweight, and thus very easy to read. I read from cover to cover, in two, one hour lunch breaks, and I would not consider myself a fast reader. Normally a page a minute, but again the Greb book is only 225 pages including photos and very simple, text wise.

 

Ah well, might as well wait for Klompton's book then. That should give me plenty of time to save up for it anyway

 

Tad patronizing too. Did you know there was no Super Middleweight division around in Greb's time?

 

I have just started to read The Cyclone - Barry McGuigan's new book. I flicked through it first and there is hardly any mention of his fall out with Eastwood. I can understand that in a sense that he needs to be careful from a legal point of view, but it would have been interesting to read McGuigan's perspective (carefully worded, of course) more than twently years after it happened.....
