Beware that Clay has a boxing library. Expect to pay a pretty penny for these... if you can find them.
"Beward that Clay as a boxing library. Expect to pay a pretty penny for these...if you can find them." Actually, thanks to reprints you can find a couple of these at very reasonable prices. Here's an example: http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...rl=sts=t&tn=The%20roosevelt&an=Mike%20Donovan http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...0making%20of%20a%20man&an=marshall%20stillman
Boxiana? Sure, I also have an extra set available for sale on my website www.prizefightingbooks.com. Of course, that is also available on-line as a modern day reprint. I'm not sure what the Bell's Life book you refer to is.
Perhaps some here would be interested to see a new digital boxing book exhibit that the University of Notre Dame recently put up: https://collections.library.nd.edu/9e62b046bc/fighting-words
Ah, if that is the 1855 title by Francis Dowling then, yes, I have that one. Bell's Life must have been the publisher. Looks like I have that title available on the website as well.
Thanks. It's been unbelievably slow from my standpoint. But at least it's still going in the right direction.
Hmm.. I wasn't aware John Bee's Fancy-Ana has been out there, I thought no prints of the book survived. Thanks for the link.
"Hmm.. I wasn't aware John Bee's Fancy-Ana has been out there, I thought no prints of the book survived. Thanks for the link." I imagine there must be a few of them out there. I have one myself.
Is it possible to scan or photograph a couple of pages as a sample and send to my yahoo mail address? The site only has the scan of the cover.
