None really. You're way better off reading the vast newspaper vaults online and watching fights.

But the guys that gather that together for you and add a little colour are great, all the In The Ring...stuff on the HW champs is awesome, Pollack, the Clompton book on Greb is good and my favourite is Clay Moyle all his stuff is great, great.

    Yes terrific writer.:good
I haven't got around to Clay Moyle's books yet but the feed back has been very positive.
I've the two Jack Johnson books and the Jeffries one,all by Adam Pollack, better biographies of the champs have not been written.:good
AJ Leibling and Bill Heinz are great.

Sam Langford: Boxing's Greatest Uncrowned Champion by Clay Moyle
Live Fast, Die Young: The Life and Times of Harry Greb by Stephen Compton
In the Ring with Jack Johnson Parts I and II by Adam Pollack

All extremely well-researched and very enlightening.

Assuming you share in the anti-American sentiment that is so pervasive on this site the book is not for you. Central to its theme is the mass migration of Americans (yes those horrible people) from middle America to the west coast. The book uses terms and phrases common for the time and the people who took part. While some people would appreciate the added flavor many other on this site should wait for the Richard Dunn bio to come out.
