Personally, The titles that matter are the WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO, and the Ring. Also, to me in the past when we had less weight divisions the titles meant more. I consider myself a purist and dislike the proliferation of titles. However, I do understand that the varying titles can gives fans more options as some fighters are avoided.

they all matter, but I like how the wbc, wba, and IBF had a meeting with each other not too long ago shutting out the WBO.

Anyways while were on the topic, if there is a super champion and a regular champion involved in a sanction (WBA) I disregard the regular champion belt and hold it as an interim title not a legitmate belt. IE; Gamboa is not a champion yet and wont be unless he defeats John or any of the other belt holders in the division.

    NONE.

And i do not understand for the life of me how ANY boxing fan thats knows anything can feel any way different.

How many times do these bodies have to do disgraceful things like mis-mandatories, sanction terrible fights as title fight, come out with their ludicrous rankins e.t.c before people relise they all mean ****.

To anyone who knows anything about the sport, there is ONE CHAMPION per weight divison and that man is considered the LINEAL CHAMP. The man who beat the man who beat the man. Thats all thats it.

The whole point of super champions was for unified champions to avoid BS mandatories, but none of the super champions hold any other titles apart from Caballero, so it's just a ploy to get more sanctioning fees. All of them are ridiculous, but WBA the worst by far.

None.. there is one champ per division, end of discussion. Winning one of the belts is more like: You are now a top contender.

Anyways; WBA, WBC and IBF are the important ones. Mostly WBA, since it was the original one.

WBA is bull**** for the last 10 years, especially at heavyweight

    in order:
    1. The Ring
    2. IBF
    3. WBC
    4. WBO
    5. IBO
    6. WBA

That's such a dumb way of looking at it, the WBA is easily the worst governing body around right now but somehow they are most prestidgeous because they're got more time in? The super champions, champions in recess, interim champions, endless circle jerk of fights between the same 3 guys for their heavyweight title, misterious high rankings given to nobody contenders so they can fall down for big promoters fighters don't matter because the name goes back further?

Then the two LEGITIMATE top contenders in that division can fight for the right to be called Lineal Champ.
