Puerto Rico is currently going through a crisis.
Not a single world champion from PR.

What can Puerto Rico do to improve their boxing, :think
since they currently do not have a World Champion?

    "0" world champions.

What do you think Puerto Rico boxing should do, to improve?

    1.) Train in the US
    2.) Train in Mexico
3.) Hire the Cuban coach (Pedro Diaz) that trained Cotto, Gamboa
    4.) other? (post your idea)

I think they should hire that cuban trainer-PEDRO DIAZ to train PR fighters in Puerto Rico.

These things are cyclical. All Puerto Rican fighters are not the same. They have different trainers, styles, and train in different locations. It's a small island as it is, so you wouldn't expect them to have a lot of champs. They will have more in the near future.

Cuba is almost identical size island, and they have more world champions than Puerto Rico.
Yet Cuban fighters have to defect, and PR doesnt.
Imagine if Cuban fightersb could fight pro, there would be more cuban world champions, I think.

Again, these things are cyclical. And I believe Rigo and Abril are the only Cubans with real titles.

No, he's from Caguas, PR. When he came up as a pro he couldn't speak English at all.

Some nationalities have an entire forum here to themselves. PR does not. Though I am glad you recognize its nationhood.

They can start by getting rid of that silly reggaeton and gansta rap in the island. It promotes violence, and the easy lifestyle of dealing drugs versus hard work and dedication.

PS: I am Puerto Rican, and it is sad what has become of our island....
