ten years ago he ran in gibbering fear from 38 year old nobody corrie sanders who had wiped him out instantly a few months previously.
is this the 10 year ago event you are referring to?

this is when CS thinks that wlad surpassed lewis. only on planet klitschko can you surpass lewis by being utterly destroyed by the weakest version of a fighter who was never on the radar of lewis when prime.

Whereas Lewis admitted to ducking Sanders altogether, along with every other southpaw HW.

Probably nothing he can do. The vast majority of his body of work has already been done and most would rank Lewis clearly higher. I don't see that changing even if Wlad adds another 4-5 notches on his belt.

For Wlad to rank above Lewis he'll need to build a time machine go back to 1998, track his past self down and slap himself across the face for being such an idiot and tell him what is coming if he doesn't learn to not throw at a ridiculous pace and gas.

Then travel forward to 2003 and track himself down again, double slap himself across the face and tell himself to not fight Sanders unless he wants to be crawling on all fours on the ring like a giant baby.

Then travel forward to February 2004, tell himself Lewis is about to retire and he has to hire Steward as his trainer and listen to his every word or he'll time travel forward to every year and sucker punch himself in the groin on everyone of his birthdays.

Then time travel forward to April 2004 and triple slap himself across the face and tell himself to not go for the KO against Brewster, don't fight at a stupidly high pace or he'll end up so concussed he'll become mentally ******ed and believe he was poisoned.

Smash up a few young live opponents. Tyson fury, Deontay Wilder etc. head to head Lewis is the better man, Wlad us just in a shitty era. He us an all round class act but I think Lewis pips him in every department.

How would Vitali have done against Haye, Stiverne, and Pulev?

you'd have to figure in that lewis has access to the time machine, and goes back to his match with rahman, tells himself to sharpen up and destroys him in 3 rounds. And to McCall, ensuring that he keeps away from McCall and gets up straight if floored.

notwithstanding lewis tells 37 year old lewis to train properly for prime vitali, and then blinds vitali permanently by tko before 6 so that now wlad has no one to protect him from being wiped out by 37 year old retired nobodies, and wlad becomes another short term bit part champ of no historical consequence (apart from being the first hw champ to get wiped out by a 37 year old retired nobody of course).

so, in effect, wlad getting a time machine to sort himself out, would effectively make his poor reign even worse. he would return to this present time as an unknown nobody tending to his blinded brother and hayden panitere blanking him in the street.
knock on effects, butterflies and all that.

He didn't go for the KO. Manny was telling him to keep boxing in the corner and it would come.
It looked like he was going for it because Brewster kept coming at him.

Look at his jab. He's jabbing at a frantic pace because he doesn't know what to do after the ref took away his holding. Hiis 'great ' jab was all over the place.
He was forced into that pace by Brewster. Hence why he moved to Germany and had to bear hug everybody since. Without it he is just an ordinary man.
Lewis could fight in the trenches when he had to. He didn't need to run away and bend the rules to win.
