This is the type of uninformed crap I find diabolical from the likes of TFFP. Ajose fought Holgate in his 7th pro fight as a novice pro. I am not saying Holgate is an all time great but he was the more experienced seasoned professional and favoured to win.

Kpadenue was feared. I will tell you something that is not widely know is that Kpadenue came in way above the weight for the title but we still took the contest to get the prestigious title despite the handicap of facing a bigger man something he has had to many times. Kpadenue went the distance with Gary Lockett and gave him a good contest.

The best at domestic level have refused to fight him e.g. Lynes, Bami etc when they were deemed the best at domestic level. If McCloskey is up to the challenge God bless him and we will take good care of him.

I am not referring to Hatton as I feel his time is coming against pacman.

Also as regards Kpadenue's record did it ever occur to you that is an incomplete record. Do you really think he got the ABU title with a 3-2 record.

Since Olusegun has won so much already, African titles and all, and against such stellar opposition, he should probably retire.

There's obviously nothing much left for him to achieve in the sport. He's just risking his legacy by fighting on.

Indeed. I'm sure there is a place in the IBHOF reserved for Ajose, alongside fellow African great Nelson. It's quite a surprise Nelson even bothered to fight the likes of Whitaker when he could ply his trade back home for an African title.

Christ...get a grip. I'm sure its meaningful for Africans but it means squat in terms of proving you are a world class fighter as claimed. You can only prove yourself as world class by fighting and beating world class opponents. Fighters make belts. McCloskey would be a step towards that.

I have no problem with Ajose, and I rate his physical talent if not his boxing abilities, but he just hasn't done anything to justify these wild claims that he's been the best junior welter in Britain for the past half decade. It is lunacy.

I was trained by Martin Holgate who I belive he fought and defeated in 2002. Good speed and chin apparently, never really watched any of his fights though.

i have prob seen him fight but can't remember, don't worry ive got a goldfish memory.
bit hard in saying the african title is meaningless,i think any title means something,if not just to the boxer.
area titles mean a lot to boxers, plus it puts you in shot 4 the british title.

just to go off topic,a mate of mine (warren stowe)fought in cape town against the afican middle weight title holder, simon maseko(non title fight)in 1995,can't remember wot round but someone fired a gun and both boxers had to dive under the ring, funniest thing ive seen for ages that was

Olu we will just have to disagree, beating Price, Holgate and the others you mention do not make someone world class. In a divsion that has had Cotto, Mayweather, Hatton, Judah, Corley etc etc etc beating Pryce means nothing. The guys your man has fought are not world class, so Ajose is undeserving of a title shot. I can name 50 fighters of the last 5 years better than them.

I said 50 fighters better than the best wins ( as defined by you ) in the last 5 years , and i could do it easily. Highlighting why beating them does not warrant a title shot.

Better than Ajose...... Hatton, Cotto, Judah, Mayweather, Torres, Mosley, De La Hoya, Witter, Harris, Corley, Tszyu, Phillips etc etc etc i probably could get to 50.

What i don't understand is how Olu can harp on about a victory over Holgate and Pryce ( who had already been shown to be vulnerable ) and think that warrants world title shots ? I would pick Malignaggi to hand Ajose a wide points defeat.

Based on what in his career so far ? Hatton and Cotto could not do what you said , so based on what exactly ?

You should give up Olu you cannot give a decent reason to explain why you think Ajose should be so highly rated , or deserving of a title shot. He has proven absolutely nothing in world terms. The clock is ticking on his career, your efforts would be better placed securing big fights than trying to convince us he is ready. We don't believe your hype.

I bet you £100 he does not win 1 of the big 3 belts and make 3 succesful defences. You up for it ?
