What Canelo is suggesting now is what Pacquaio has been doing in his career.

Pacquiao didn't become a diva until his wins over Barrera and Morales. Canelo is far from that point yet.

 

Isn’t it funny that you are blaming Canelo for "Weight draining, stipulations, catchweights” yet Canelo has never done that to another fighter lol! Floyd did that baloney stuff to him, and Cotto has been doing that baloney stuff at Middleweight since he fought Martinez.

That’s why I’m not pushing for Canelo - GGG at a catchweight. I say Canelo should recapture the 154 titles next then build up a GGG fight at MW over the next 2 years, do you agree? What do you think Canelo should do next?

So...GGG’s running out of time. think GGG needs Canelo more than Canelo needs GGG?... that’s what they said last night after the fight on HBO.

I agree that Canelo is the biggest fight out of their for GGG right now. I think if Canelo were to move up to 160, he would be in a better negotiating position if he were to re-capture the 154-lb titles.

I also think that once Canelo moves up to 160 and fights GGG, after that fight, by then it could be harder for Canelo to go back down to 154. While he’s still close to 154, while he can make that weight easily, he should fight next for that vacant title. That way when he goes into the GGG fight he can hold 3 titles, the MW he won from Cotto and the unified 154 lb titles.

We know Canelo wants the GGG fight, but after his negotiations with Floyd in 2013, as a result Canelo has become a smarter and more shrewd businessman. Canelo should do what he is comfortable. I think it’s a personal goal for Canelo to re-capture those 154 lb titles. And he should do that while he is still at that weight. When he is ready to move up to 160 pounds, then he can do that as a unified Jr Middleweight Champ and Middleweight Champ! Then Canelo - GGG could set records!
