I'll defer to you on that, since my interest in boxing was long waning by then.

And threw intentional forearms. And tried to break multiple opponents’ arms with arm bars in clinches.

This was a case of: You wanna play, get in the sandbox.

Evander got in the sandbox and Mikey realized he didn’t wanna play.

This +2 … he was great, though, but his own worst enemy.

    Gremlins.

Gremlins caused Tyson to bite Holyfield.

Sometimes the simplest and most obvious explanation is the correct one.

Both were dirty if we being honest so yes Holyfield headbutted but Tyson elbowed. Not gonna defend his low blows against Ruddock either in an underrated series that took a toll on both fighters I bet.

Alright, to break it down, Holyfield was underestimated bcuz of his heart issues along with being stopped by Bowe recently. Tysons return from prison was calculated and imho the only time he looked impressive was against a guy he beat b4 in Bruno. His head movement and combo punching just weren't there anymore he fell in love w his power essentially becoming a slugger.

Holyfield was durable, had the right gameplan, and as said could get dirty w Mike too. Honestly I love the first fight more than most tho I did have an era of being butt hurt that Tyson lost. After time I realized that both were past prime and the more disciplined fighter w more in the tank won whereas 96/97 was Tysons last realistic chance of remaining champ or avenging his loss in the rematch.

Meanwhile Holyfield gave Lewis two good efforts tho falling short. Tyson was long gone during his fight w Lewis w his life overall more publicly chaotic out of his control than Holyfield.

I won’t concede the point of discipline, he was very capable of it.

Holyfield definitely deserved that, if not more retribution...
Holyfield could be nasty / play dirty and he used these skills to take down many opponents over the years. Tyson was not a dirty fighter,, I think it was Lennox Lewis when touring holyifields Training facilities, remarks about about a YouTube the post fight interview with Tyson and you will see a giant gash above his right eye that's about 1/4" deep. This impact from Holyfields head butt actually made him go weak in the knees for a sec. I've never seen Tyson faulter I'm that way, and he took a number of hard punches throughout

LOL, Tyson not a dirty fighter.

How many times did he deliberately true to break someone’s arm with his arm bar?

Go watch the two Ruddock fights and you’ll run out of fingers (and maybe toes) counting Tyson’s deliberate fouls.

Not to mention, of course, biting someone’s ear off.

Poi nt being, Tyson bit his ear off in retaliation, do to so me very high impact headbutts delivered illegally and intentionally by one the dirtiest fighters in that era, who did everything possible to win, including PEDs and eventually learned how to throw a headbutt with discretion. He was so good he fooled most of refs and officials to the point where they had no idea Evan Fields was integrating an illegal and dangerous tactic into his game.
While touring holyfields gym, Lennox Lewis re marked the heavy bag had a tire around it approximately right about head level. Holyfield deserved to have both ears bitten off for all shenanigans he pulled by using this illegal and dangerous move on many of his opponents.. I'm glad Mike did what he did.
