Tough fight for Mills. The biting at that level was unprecedented. Some might’ve felt Tyson should’ve gone after the first bite - but again, a very peculiar foul and such a big fight with a lot at stake at the same time. Mills gave Mike a second chance but then, another bite and Tyson was gone. Ultimately, all things considered, Mills handled it well but was upset as you say.

He had starved himself to get in fighting shape and he needed a lil snack.

I must say, she is quite a doll!

Tyson, while it is true he was getting fouled a bit, was a dirty fighter himself so karma & all that. I think that ring was the last place Tyson wanted to be and had to find a way out, just like Duran in the 2nd Leonard fight.

I won't say I'm glad he did it, but yes, Holyfield headbutted people a lot. The tire anecdote is funny, though.

I don't think any of us could ever be really sure, but this is what I always thought. Nicely put, John.

I have heard he used a canine heat inducer known as cheque drops before this fight, a steroid used by boxers and powerlifters to induce a flow state of aggression. It has a very short half life and is mostly known for focus alteration rather than a long term PED. It is very difficult to maintain an even keel on this drug and many people have lost their marbles using it.

Ya Mike was never a shrinking violet when it came to the darker arts either.

He was smart to try and give Tyson a second chance, the fight was too big to stop after one bite.

Do your homework, in general mike is not considered a dirty fighter, just an aggressive one who would get dirty if that's what the opponent "deserved".

You mean the guy who Lennox Lewis said showed him a bunch of ways to cheat and get away with it?

The guy who tried to break arms in the first round?

He’s as dirty as they come. Go watch the two Ruddock fights and you’ll run out of fingers on the warnings — hitting after the bell, low blows, elbows, head butts, etc — and you might run out of toes before it’s over.

Not to mention he committed the most egregious foul in our lifetimes in boxing by biting someone’s ear off.

Mike was a dirty fighter. To say he wasn’t is intellectually dishonest.
