So, one fight means you know what he'll do everytime. So scientific... Bute has never needed the ref to stop his fights. Against Zuniga (a long count), Brinkley (given extra time to recover) and even Magee (where a legit KD was counted as a low blow), the ref was not on his side. I suppose you "forgot" these facts.
Resumes don't fight. "0-5" doesn't matter because this version of Glen Johnson might be different for all we know. He's resettling at SMW if we go by what he's saying. Not as quick as he once was, but the workrate is there for the most part and the tactics have improved over the years. You go ahead and tell me the Johnson coming at Bute in the ring Sat night resorts to the same tactics, has the same attributes than the LHW who got outboxed by Dawson.. and Cloud, of all "BOXERS". Bhahaha. Actually you wouldn't look at those angles if all you're considering is resume this resume that, so again and as always bailey, respect for the Elite Boxrecing wealth of knowledge that you copy paste and lay down in lots of threads on here, but you can fukk right off if you won't debate the way boxers fight. No time for the man who beat the man who beat the man who once had a paper title in a less competitive era. (anymore, I must admit :rofl ) :smoke
he has power dont get me wrong, but i think his succes come from the fact those knock out punches arrive unseen by opponents, he suprises boxers by geting them with odd short angles.
I wouldn't put any money on Johnson being knocked out. He is durable, and crafty enough to last out the fight.
Again, I don't give a **** that Bute has never needed a ref to stop his fights and I think he'd probably beat Johnson going away on the cards. I just like the odds of a dumb stoppage here so everyone can drool about the "monster" who became first since Hopkins to stop Johnson.
I sure don't hope that and find you're a monster of bad faith. People will mostly do like you already do: saying it was a premature stoppage, that Johnson was shot, that Froch ruined him, etc. There will be more comments like yours than the other way... unless Bute stops Johnson very clearly. Will you give him props then?
they will simply change pseudo and avatar so they can still show up and ***** without having to face the music.....bunch of bitcheslzdie
Timing and Precison is Bute key to power , he don't hit harder then Froch but he his much more precise with his shot , and like you say being a Southpaw help him place those shote and take his opponents by surprise. Bute's coach his really good to see weakness in his opponents defence and they work a lot on this in the Gym so it hepls too
That's all true but he still has improved his power. Four fights ago, Larouche told Bute would be developping more in a puncher. So far, he did. Froch has power but is not able to land his bombs at the elite level without compromising his defense. When Bute uses his left uppercut or any of his shorts punches, he is completely safe, his opponents being out of balance after having given a shot. I think Bute could have trouble against another counter puncher but should pass the Johnson test with good grades.
My giving or witholding praise will depend on what actually happens in the ring; I was simply remarking on what I think is a likely outcome of the fight based on past events. I don't see how or why Johnson's age should be bracketed in any such discussion however; I felt the same way about those looking to pre-emptively praise Pacquiao in the event that he became the first to stop a clearly past it Mosley.
50%. Johnson loses a lot by familiarity. Dawson had him figured out in the second fight and he has done more than 90 rounds with Bute... so Bute should win convincingly.
That's right. At this point in his career, I don't think Johnson can bring some new stuff. He has on style and it's go ahead and try to hit your opponent. It's fa from being the ultimate challenge for Bute but it will be a good measuring stick.
Before writing Johnson off, lets ask ourselves what we think will happen when Johnson lands on Bute, because at some point in the fight, winning or losing,he will connect. Butes the favourite and rightly so,but some people are talking like he's going to have a stroll in the park, and i just don't see the fight playing out that way. Jabbing and moving will not slow down or discourage Johnson, Bute will have to land some heavy leather.
