This is my position, also. If Bernard doesn't KO or TKO Kelly Pavlik in the first 5 rounds, he loses and it wouldn't surprise me if it was by stoppage. I like the 'Executioner' alot and have rooted for him many times, but I think his time is over and he's there to be taken and that Pavlik might very well be the man to do it.
being generous, 35%-40%. i think hopkins will win a couple of early rounds, and will give pavlik a run for it in the mid, but will get outworked by the younger man down the stretch.
30 - 35 %. I don't think Hopkins can win on points. Pavlik has seen how Calzaghe's workrate affected Hopkins and he's going to use that same gameplan only with heavier firepower. However, Bhop is a crafty ******* and I believe that he'll give Pavlik fits during the first 4-5 rounds or so. If Hopkins wins, it'll be by stoppage in the first half of the fight, but the most likely scenario is, it's a tightly fought fight with Pavlik winning on points.
I agree. Hopkins will not be even in as good a shape as he was against Calzaghe, not just because he's older, but also because he doesn't need to be as active during the fight and because he doesn't respect Pavlik as much as he respected Calzaghe (so he wasn't motivated to train as hard), I think.
I need help deciding on whether or not to buy this fight. I love both B-hop and Pavlik but do you think this fight is really worth $50? I have no idea how this fight will go other than a decision.
Yeah when saturday evening comes, i won't let myself not watch it, i know myself lol too much of a fight fiend....this fight is very intriguing and i just saw their 24/7
I expect this to be an excellent fight for the first few rounds, Pavlik the power puncher vs the man who can't be stopped. If there isn't a fairly early KO/TKO then the fight will descend into a hug fest - at which point B-Hop will have a very good chance of getting a points deicision. Those voting "less than 20%" are clearly very foolish.
