Austin and Sultan dropped each other.

Sultan has come a long way since fighting Austin.

    I don't think he's a great threat, but it's a decent style matchup.

    But who knows?

    Anything can happen.

Here's a quick run down for you.

Sultan was a top amateur who won some tournaments and took silver at heavyweight in the 2000 games, losing on points, but hurting the legendary Felix Savon in the finals.

Ibragimov has the quickest feet in the division, very good hand speed, can get in and out, combo punch, play the angles, counter punch, and hit hard to the head or the body with hooks. Sultan's chin is good, but probably not great. How good will be answered if Wlad hit him hard. His defense can be leaky at times, but because he moves so well he can be hard to set your feet to tag.

In addition, Ibragimov is a southpaw who is in his prime. He can dirty fight well.

Ibragimov came in fat and lazy vs Austin. Throw that fight out. It was his worst effort. He is in shape for this match.

IMO, Ibragimov does not hit as hard as Sanders does, but he can have the same game plan as Sanders did. The thing is, Wlad underestimated Sanders and gout caught. I doubt Wlad is un-estimating Ibragimov, and has improved his survival skills greatly under Steward's tutelage.

Can Ibragimov win? Sure. He’s got the right style and might be the best fighter Wlad has fought in a long time. Will he win? Not likely. Wlad is too good right now.

One noteworthy point about Ibragimov is how he approaches his defense and offense. He's not like Byrd or Brock where he will play cute on defense and try to stay away. He moves in straight lines both in and out. For this reason he has a much better chance than those two of connecting hard on Waldo.

But at the same time he should be easier to hit coming in. So it is just a more risky fight. In the end it ought to be more entertaining for us.

Sultans best chance, after reviewing his strenghts and weaknesses, would be to catch a tiring Klitchko in the late rounds.

And this is why I think Wlad will win. No matter what they do or no matter who they spar with, there is no equal to Wlad. Any every opponent is always shocked how quick and hard Wlad hits. I think Sultan will not be able to give enough body angles to avoid Wlad. The straight in and straight out will lead to his downfall.

If Sultan can fight his fight, the fight of a smaller man, than I wouldn't be in disbelief if he won.

If this is Ibragimov's game plan, he's a fool. Klitschko has not tired at all proved he had top 12 round stamina by moving and boxing for 12 rounds, without touching the ropes vs Sam Peter. I think Wlad is in even better shape now.

Ibragimov best chance to try to strike hard and first. Throw caution into the wind and go for it. It’s easy for me to say. To fight that way vs a huge puncher is always risky. However, it is better than saying I went a few rounds and lost, thinking things could have been different if I went for it early.

He can't do a Sanders on Wlad at 6 feet of height but he can whack him a bit with looping punches like that final shot Brewsta threw on Wlad in their first fight. His defense is good, moves like Speedy Gonzales and suddenly charges in with sneaky left counters and overhand rights - I wouldn't die in shock if he steals the fight on points - it would be a big disappointment and a step-back in the Heavyweight process but it can happen.

No chance, he's open to that right hand and has a suspect chin. Night, night.

There's your analysis. He's also undersized.

I agree that 238 on a 6'6" guy is kind of slender for Wlad, but it's not that much different from his past fighting weights. Wlad's just one of those ridiculous specimens. He walks around at 240. I'm always surprised when I hear his weight, but when I see him in the ring he always looks like a brick shithouse. I'm glad Sultan came in in-shape. He seems to have learned his lesson after the Ray Austin debacle (where he came in 10 lbs. heavier than he's ever been, looked for the early knockout, was gassed in the later rounds, got knocked down and nearly out in the 10th, and luckily came away with the draw). He's come in for every fight since around 220. I'm psyched for this fight!

I see what your what saying, but both Peter and Brewster hurt Wlad, who are the same height as Iggy. We have seen Wlad get floored with or rocked by less than stellar punches, Brewster made Wlad's legs buckle with a jab in the 3rd round, where he had to hold on to Brewster for dear life so he wouldnt fall. I'm not saying Iggy cant win, but if he thinks he's going to outbox Wlad to a decision, he's fooling himself. If he had a granite chin like Mccall or Tua, only then could I see him fighting that type of fight.

If Iggy wants to win he got to make Wlad uncomfortable, the only way he could do that is through pressure, not only does that make him on easy, but it will tire him early, and possibly lead to Wlad gassing out latter on. If Wlad gets into his rythm, the fights over, but if Iggy can keep the pressure on and get him into a panic attack, he got a real chance of winning this one IMO.
