Can Ortiz knock Wilder out within round 5? If he can, through which strategy?

Ortiz is getting older and slower. He had his chance to stop Wilder in their first fight and damn near did it. Wilder beats him easier this time

He has a real good chance but just like the Breazeale fight ( how it was ignored Wilder was rattled with a glancing shot there ) doesn't mean it will most likely happen in this case bc Ortiz has repetitive patterns and really works his way inside with triple jabs then punching a power shot ,he caught Wilder past mid rounds with a well timed shot he ran into so that happening bf round 5 is not so good.

Decent chance means about 30% here ,but that doesn't mean Wilder doesn't end it within 5 himself, which is more then 30% given Ortiz hasn't looked better since. Its a Wilder fight though ,you cant predict things outside his own 95% K.O record which assumes he gets a knockout against someone he should do that to.

He's been looking real slow and less powerful in his recent fights. Also a lot less accurate. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets taken out in the early rounds in the rematch

Ortiz lost the first fight against Wilder mainly due to his advanced age and lack of stamina.

I cannot see how he can improve on those weaknesses in a rematch

The other factor which is key, is that Wilder will know from the first match that Ortiz isnt capable of fighting at a high pace.

Wilder just needs to make it a high tempo, take fewer risks and he will get openings and break Ortiz down and stop him again

I like many here, dont see the point in a rematch.

Ortiz will most likely rely on his counterpunching, just as Wilder, he needs to land one big shot and the fight could be over. The problem is that Wilder doesn't do much until he finds his momentum for the right hand, so it will be tough for Ortiz to time a counter. However, I estimate that Ortiz is the smarter guy of the two and he'll prepare some faints and baits for Wilder. Maybe he'll try to fight on the inside this time, to bring something new, because in the last fight he went to the outside all fight long.

I really wonder in what shape Ortiz will show up, he's been so inactive recently, but knowing that he'll most likely face Wilder next, he had enough time to train and prepare.

There is a reason behind the saying "youth will be served." He had an opportunity and almost did it. I'd give about a 10% chance to do it now. Hope I am wrong.

My man, your poll needs some work. With that said, I think it is in Ortiz's best interest to start out hard and go for the early KO. Wilder will happily oblige and trade with him.

Yes I think Ortiz and Wilder will start out hard. This time Ortiz is obliged to boxe in that way.

Ortiz needs to be the boss early, or else even if he hurts Wilder again it could become a Joshua/Wladimir situation.

I don't love this fight but it's not bad. Just would rather see new matchups.

For me all will depend by the resistance of Ortiz chin in the prime rounds. Ortiz knows Wilder will start as with Breazeale.
