What chances would you give prime Shannon Briggs against Ken Norton ?

Norton is levels above Norton in ability, its just not even a comparison. But Briggs was very quick and powerful and Norton was vulnerable to big punchers. What are the chances that someone as terrible as Briggs gets the KO ?

Not impossible at all if he catches him cold. I suppose that could be said about 99% of fighters but it really does ring true for kenny in my opinion. Norton by far the better fighter like you say, but just for shits and giggles

    A Very good chance.
BUT, Briggs' stamina was so bad he made Tommy Morrison look like a prime Rocky Marciano so anything can happen.

I would steer Norton clear of him, if I were Norton's manager.

Briggs was actually a good body puncher. The question would be if he could make a consistent body attack pay off in the long run, or if he would run out of gas (which he tended to do) and get picked apart by Norton.

Safest bet would be that Norton survives a rocky first couple of rounds, and then slowly starts taking over. Might resemble the Norton vs Cobb fight.

A slim one, Norton should make him look silly. It's absolutely not true that Norton would have lost to any decent puncher.

Briggs would have a strong puncher’s chance. I would still favor Ken however.

Probably like 1/3. He could also do him like Liakovich or catch him int he mid rounds like Botha if Operation Bumrush failed.

Which Briggs? The younger one who fought Lennox, or the truly massive, immobile one who asthmatically decapitated Lyakhovich?

Any hard punch would ko Norton.

Even a punch at someone else. Norton was unusually susceptible to second-hand clout.

Norton would have to stay out of the way for maybe a round or two at most. By the 6th Ken's body attack is bringing the hands down, and Briggs is taking some real ugly overhand rights. 7th round TKO.

Briggs will do as he did to Lennox but this time he takes the win and does it with less trouble.
