What changes is Mayweather Sr. making in Ricky Hattons training and life style? I have heard has fired all the former members of Hattons camp and is putting a stop to drinking. Have any of you read or heard anything specific?
They don't start drinking before 9 o'clock anymore and he doesn't let'em take girls randomly from the streets no more
Hopefully Mayweather will improve Rickys conditioning as well. He seemed to gas in recent fights, despite doing all that body bag training.
Not heard anything to specific. Hatton has said that Mayweather is getting him to think more and not just bull rush in i.e throw a few feints, come inside behind the jab. Ricky has said that Floyd has taught him a few new things but i believe Floyd is mainly teaching Ricky things he has forgotten. I think they are going to make Hatton fight in the style he used to fight in before the Tszyu fight. Mayweather said he was actualy suprissed by Hattons skill level. He just thought Ricky was the uneducated, ugly brawler that Hatton has become since the Tszyu fight. I don't think he realised that Ricky actually has a decent jab and good footwork to create angles for his punches. If Hatton can fight again in this style and is not to shop worn i think it could give him a late career resurgance. I know that sounds a bit stupid as he has only been beaten once and is one of the most marketable fighters in boxing but if he fights more intelligently it could add a year or two to his boxing life (jumping in behind wide, winging hooks and getting hit because of it will take its toll on you) and it will make for more enjoying fights as he won't be wrestling as much. I think if he fights in the pre-Tszyu style it will get him even more fans over in America where alot have only seen his post-Tzsyu fights which, even as a big Hatton fan i have to admit have been quite dull in comparison to his earlier career fights.
"This tha mutha****in turnbuckle. Stay away from the turnbuckle or else it'll kick yo mutha****in ass again." Honestly other than some defensive tweaks, there's not much else Hatton can learn from him.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Hatton said Floyd wanted him to be more patient, use the jab a bit more and not rush in.
