Fighting for a middleweight title means you have to weight between 154 and 160 when you enter the ring. No more rehydrating up to 10 - 20 pounds over the weight limit.

I am sure it will be mentioned by someone else, but how about make judges and refs accountable for their work somehow. If 2 judges score a fight 7-5 but Mr. Hometown judge scores it 11-1, you know something is wrong and that guy needs to have his chain pulled.

    Great thread.

    1) Judges are not ringside and watch fight from sound proof room with no comentary, replays, and cant hear the crowd
    2) Authorities able to overturn or make rematches more easily
    3) One body owned by one person much like MMA. Impossible to do i know, but would force fighters to face the best.
4)Fan based votes for who fights who

Thats all i can think off for now.

Teddy Atlas implemented a good scoring system for the viewers as well. Put a system up that shows the judges live scoring.

idont know how but make it so fighters cant hide from each other when ranking say this is who you need to fight if you want to move up or have a title shot.

One governing body for the entire sport, divided by region. There would be one world champion per weight class and a clearer rankings system. Also, there would be unified drug testing policies and the power of promoters would be diminished.

Most major sports leagues have divisions. Why not have a North American, South American, European, Asian, and African divisions in a World Boxing League? Each year the WBL could have a "Night of Champions" and have the highest rated division champions fight for the true world championship. A true, annual, Super Bowl for the sport.

Your first is absolutely on the money, but I don't think that the idea of supercards is feasible in boxing from an economic standpoint.

We can speak with our pocketbooks. When there is a crappy fight, don't buy it. When the promoters put together a good matchup, support it.

I don't buy plenty of PPV cards if they are not competitive, whether or not they feature Pac or Mayweather. However, I will go out of my way to attend a good card or send HBO an e-mail when they put up a good fight.

It's a bit of a dream, but could you imagine the European heavyweight champion vs. the North American champion every August? The Asian lightweight against the South American lightweight on the undercard?

4+ legitimate title fights on a date sports fans can pencil into their calendars at the beginning of the year. Rotate the venues, Wembley one year, Madison Square Garden another, some great venue in Tokyo....TV money from around the globe.

I think this would be a cash cow.

    This

Alot of fights are decided on who can cut the most weight better rather than who's the better fighter. They should start having multiple weight ins so theres no cheating the scales ! Its ridiculous some guys have a 10-15lbs weight advantage going into the fight.

Other than the odd dodgy decision or ref im happy with it.
