I love this fight, though it's been a long time since I viewed it, I'd pretty much forgotten the manner in which Cotto first took a knee.

Quite a powerful image, Cotto retreating while Maragrito jogs after him in almost sinister fashion, before Miguel finally takes a knee not due to being on shaky legs, but more seemingly that he'd had enough. And couldn't take anymore punishment.

A very rare thing to see. Not often that you see a boxer looked genuinely frightened in the ring with their will seemingly completely broken.

Just a random thought I had as I came across the gif..

    Love that fight...
Great moment as Max said "A modern day classic".
(Both beat the prime out of each other that night)

^Yup the version Cotto fought in NY was a deminished blinded & weight drained version of the Pacquaio fight Margarito.

According to compubox, Margarito landed 237 power punches. Thats a lot from a puncher like him and if he was really wearing the plaster, then now wonder Cotto was done.

People laugh at Cotto and call him a quitter but in reality there are not that many people in the world who could go through that and stay on their feet.
