What is a good chin? Is it just being able to take a hit without being knocked down/out, or is there more to it?

Being able to take hard hits without going down, and being able to recover from punishment as quickly and efficiently as possible.

It's pretty hard to categorize though. For example, Joe Calzaghe had a chin that was susceptible to flash knockdowns, especially in his later career as seen against Popkins and RJJ, but the few times he ever went down he pretty much always recuperated almost instantly, and could take quite a few hard shots to the face before starting to slow down. Depending on where you're coming from, you could argue his chin was anywhere from not bad to great. **** like that is more often than not pretty arbitrary.
