    1) You can be a boxing fan only following one division. If you only follow the HW division, or the flyweight division, is it not boxing you are still following? Compare it to football, nobody would challenge the hooligans we have here as to not being football fans as they are diehard supporters of specific team, however I doubt many of them follows anything other divisions other than the premier/champions league.

    2) We dont have those channels here in England. Even if we did, where do you draw the line? Should I say "a real boxing fan" has to watch every pro fight that exist in the country, missing one means youre not a real boxing fan? How much boxing you watch is irrelevant, if you follow the sport or know of its fighters, you are a fan.

    3) You can be a fan and a **** analyst. Again comparing to football, you can support a crap football team and be confident in their abilities predicting them to win, yet somehow they still manage to loose each week. You are following the sport of football, wether you get who the winner is or not is irrelevant, youre still a fan. Same goes for boxing.

    4) Theres a difference between being a boxing fan and being a boxing historian.

    5) I agree.

Because boxing is such a cult sport, its being turned into somewhat an "elitist" comp between the fans. Playground stuff. "nananana, I know more about fighters from an era nobody gives a **** about now than you!".

In Jolly old England, all they show on the Telly is either English Football (Soccer) where the teams play for 5 hours, 0-0 is the score, and it's a good cure for insomnia, or perhaps darts. Thats what I want to watch Saturday Nights, a bunch of drunken Englishmen throwing darts at a pub without any women.

    1. You gots to know whats what in ALL divisons, mini flyweight, or minimumweight, to the Heavyweights.

    2. Too many idiots like you on "Fightnight" at Fight parties across the nation who I have no patience for. If they can sit and watch the fights and keep their mouths shut, it's fine, but when they start to have an opinion, and they dont follow my sport, I put them in line faster than the Queen would bitchslap Charles if he started sassing her.

    3. If you know the sport, you can predict certain things. Take last years fight, Mayweather-DLH. Money May was light years faster with about equal reach, and younger. He was also superior, technically, and knew how to neutralize Oscar's jab, which is 80 percent of his gameplan. I took $$$ from, the sportsbook. same thing when Hatton fought PBF, PBF owned him in every single aspect, and as such it was an easy night for the Superior Black Athlete.

    4. I am both. I can school non boxing fans on the present, the past or the future in boxing.

THat's exactly my point. Only americans can have acess to all these fights. So technically the poor old trainers from my country aren't boxing fans, because they sure as heck do not know who Louis and Johnson are.

Simply put, by that logic that only real boxing fan is an American with access to all those things. Heck we don't even have HBO (at least the one with the boxign) over here. Local ESPN only shows football and other sports and no boxing whatsoever. What boxing we get is from local networks. Then by that definition, nobody but Americans are real boxing fans.

Easy for me . . . it you can admit that your favorite fighters can lose to other fighters then you are a real boxing fan and not just a fan of specific fighters. :D
