I'm right with you man; rooting for Miguel every step of the way, and celebrating what he stands for as a man and as a fighter.

I dont hate pac. I hate the idea of him putting his opponent at a disadvantage. That may not be his fault but it doesnt spell amazing to me. He'll fight hatton at 140 but not marquez. Cotto at 145 even tho it likely woulda been same result but Clottey at 147. Margarito at 150 but not Cotto at 150. Not Shane years ago when he was undisputed and begged for the fight but not untill hes on a lose streak. DLH at 149 on fight night is also nothing amazing.. These stipulations dont shout p4p to me. Props for facing Bradley tho

wow a great thread but then this.

so why won't you hate also the idea that floyd fought marquez at 144 catch only to cheat him on scales. also that he fought hatton at 147 instead of 140? also why don't you hate the idea the floyd has not fought cotto back in 2008 but will now fight him after he was stopped by both margo and pac?

    you have double-standards man.

sorry to hear about ur pops, lost mine too. my dad and I watched a lot of boxing together and cotto had become a favorite of my dad, brother and I. He always got all the ppv's (MMA AND BOXING) and everybody would come over. move a big screen out back and have both screens playing the fight inside and out. bbq and kegs, some of the best times Ive ever had. I'll always root for Cotto. Fan for life. lost my dad and we just stopped doing it up. i watch alone at home, a 12 pack of shiner bock , a dub of that mary, and I'm set. I think i need to bring it back.(every time instead of just certain fights)

It's still a good fight. The only reason it didn't happen back then was Arum.

Sure u can make those points. Although Hatton was undefeated. What about dlh at 154. Or Mosley when he was the man who beat the man. Or ortiz at 147 and now Cotto at 154. That says a lot to me. More so than what pac has done in recent years.

of course i can counter also what you have said about pac. pac fought delahoya at 147 because it would be absurd for him to jump 3 weight class from 135 to fight oscar at 154. he fought cotto at 145 because he was coming from 140 (138 ) the previous fight. once he was settled, he exclusively fought at full 147 aside from marquez where he only accomodated marquez' demand of 144 catchweight which pac honored unlike floyd.

and floyd is not doing much since he is at WW-LMW range since what, 6 or 7 years ago? he is supposed to fight guys at 147 or 154. he is naturally bigger than pacquiao and can afford to fight opponents at 154 whereas pac is not even a full-pledge 147.

again great thread and i would not wan't to ruin it further after this post but i see that you have some double-standards when it comes to pac and floyd.

Fighting hatton at 140; there is no way to tell how good this is due to his weight in between fights, was too much of his effort going into losing weight? although based around the achievements as this weight it was the right thing to do
Dragging marquez up; the idea behind it was to make pac as comfrtable as possible, if marquez is the one chasing the fight he should come to pacs comfort zone, which I believe to be around 143-145
Cotto 145; this one was straight up bull****.
Margarito at 150; this fight should never have been for a light middle weight championship, marg had not achieved anything at 154
Cotto 150; after owning him at 145 he shouldn't want this fight anyway.

Marquez at 144; Not floyds fault marquez agreed to the financial penalty, also when was the last time he was below 145?
    Hatton at 147; explained above.
Cotto in 2008; Bob arum, I rest my case.

taking a step back and looking at it both of you have double standards, I hope you both actually appreciate what both fighters have done over time.

P.s sad to hear about your dad, cotto is very entertaining.
