A couple of guys who said that he had to fight small it right. However, no one really knows how to train someone to fight that way today. I think Haye had the natural athletic ability to beat wlad, he had the boxing ability to beat Wlad, but he did not have the style to beat wlad. I think Haye is bit of a goofball but he was kinda growing on me (I do not consider myself a fan . . . but he is entertaining at least). I think he was the only guy who had an outside shot to beat K2. Oh yeah, all he really needed was ten health toes . . . lol
Whenever Haye threw the feint and got Wlad to commit to a left hook, he ducked the shot every time. This created a great opportunity to detonate his big right hand on Wlads jaw which was an open target. Never threw it. Instead his only power shots landed were from range and he was reaching for Wlad. Those shots never really carried enough to stop Wlad and were too few and far between. Chinny Wlad didn't like tasting the power of these long rangers though and immediately went into survival mode. I'm certain that if Haye was to land one on the inside like he should have done considering the amount of opportunities he created, he'd have put Wlad to sleep. He was sadly not brave or bold enough on the night.
Haye could have gone kamikaze and landed a miracle shot. That's really all anyone can hope to do, and Wlad would likely get back up, clench, and box cautiously for the rest of the fight if he survives the round and take a decision. Two boxers will never be outboxed: Floyd and Wlad.
He should have fired that club trainer bum Adam Booth. And then he should have actually threw the combos that he bragged about instead of being a one punch stalker. Haye could have also used what is knows in boxing circles as a "JAB"-apparently it is an important punch. Adam Booth Pre Klitschko fight:"David is the best heavyweight in the world." Adam Booth post Klitschko fight:"David is a cruiserweight."
I think fighting inside is his best chance, the problem (other guy in another thread) was saying that even when Haye's combos landed Wlad either clinched or started backpedaling straight away. It did not help that Haye is not an active fighter but rather a cautious counter puncher as well. This content is protected This content is protected
Haye thought he could use his Valuev game plan avoid getting hit and throw a couple big combos too win the round maybe get a ko. But I think once he felt wald power and defense he froze up. I think haye could beat him
nothing really. wlads footwork was amazing. wlad is just better. be more aggressive. he was too predictable with his left and a hayemaker combo
Talking out of your ass yet again Jack. Did Wlad not get docked a point because of Adam Booth's lobby against Wlad clinching? atsch Fortunately, the ref wised up to Haye's flopping. Both men caught each other clean, take off your blinders and watch the fight again Hayelord.
Haye needs to learn footwork, how to throw a punch without falling all off balance, how to throw a combo without going into a rabbit punch frenzy, and how to keep his left hand up.
Nothing, his total lack of an inside game was what this was all about, Wlad's body was wide open for him to drill very hard but all he did was wildly swing at Wlad's head. Showed no dimensions at all. It wasn't so much what Wlad did, it was more what Haye couldn't do.
