uh, actually thrown punches and not always go to his knees. I thought he proved he could take Wlad's punches...I mean he did get cracked in his jaw AND stand right in front of Wlad with his hands down like he wasn't worried about what was coming back...That fight is just ****in strange man.
I'm not gonna sit here and call him a ***** because I hate when arm chair critics call pro boxers pussies but I wish he would've let his damn hands go man.
I think I yelled at him through my tv so loud I scared my neighbors. I think I yelled at lamont more against khan.
He should have been more active. His tactic gave lot of trouble for Wlad and he was able to land best shots of the night. More active version of that same style could beat Wlad in rematch
Nothing that was the best Haye had to offer. As someone already said if Haye had stood his ground it would have given Wlad the opportunity to ko him. Wlad was too big, too strong, too athletic and just to good. Also i remember Lewis used to hold and put his weight on smaller opponents backs I.e. Holyfield, Tyson, Tua etc and people praised this as a good tactic for tiering out smaller men, Wlad does it and it's excessive holding. Hayes awful footwork was initiating what clinches there were.
They didnt praise that tactic then. It was illegal octopussy move then and its illegal octopussy move now. Referees should pay more attention to it. Also Wlad does it much more that Lewis did Sure it was. Funny it dosent happen against other opponents in Haye fights. Did Mormeck make Wlad hold him all fight too?
Gamble more and risk being knocked out doing so. As a fighter looking to win he needed to show more guts. Haye didn't give Wlad enough to think about and let him dominate the bout in cruise mode. If Haye had been a bit more active and able to steal a couple of rounds early in the fight it would of kept Wlad urgent late on and possibly led to an opening Haye could of exploited with a bomb. He should of been looking to get off the shots he finally did in the 12th from about the 8/9th onward.
Not hurt at all. not even close. was wlad doing the chicken dance? was he wobbled ala Valuev?... no way. haye landed a good shot that stunned wlad and got his attention, but to say he was "hurt"..... I dont agree with. I guess it depends on your definition of "hurt"
Just needed to let his hands go more often. Feint more. As decisive as the first fight was this is actually a fight i wouldn't mind seeing a rematch of. I think after the roasting Haye took last time he would definately put more effort in and will take some confidence from the fact that he took Wlads shots well. Wlad will probably be more aggressive as he has been critisized of being over cautious in the fight too. Also get a ref that stops all that clinching bollocks. If we have a ref that will force Wlad to fight on the inside instead of holding the fight as a whole will be a much better watch. I'm all for a fighter using his physical advantages in his favour but EXCESSIVE holding is illegal and in German Wlad gets away with EXCESSIVE holding. Occassionally it can't be helped and sometimes is tactically a good move and doesn't detract too much from the fight. However the way Wlad uses it he makes the fight ugly. I'm not saying stop him from holding all together but just not so he uses the clinch at least 10 times a round because it ruins the fight
Watch the fight and try to find EXCESSIVE holding. Every clinch except round 12(that lasted 5 seconds) was due to HAye ramming his head in wlads chest.
