Instead of Wedgewood China? He had ability, a heck of a lfthook body puncher, strong. Thinking & wondering this from watching MORRISON due to another thread. Just wondering.

It would have helped some but IMO his lack of stamina was his biggest flaw. I think he needed to really get into the roadwork instead of the weights. Picturing a 210-15 Morrison, just as strong, quicker and harder to beat.
Also when a boxer is in great condition they can avoid more punishment and also recover much quicker.

My opinion nothing replaces running. I got hooked on it myself. Windsprints as well as the roadwork.

Not sure that roadwork can improve stamina, at least not significant... pretty much genetic, like explosiveness.
Wlad Klitschko bust his ass in training, very disciplined and still had shyte stamina... and guys like Bowe, Fury were lazy, overweight, undisciplined but could box all night long...

I think if Morrison did have a chuvalo level chin he would have practically been unstoppable, of course he would need to work on that stamina too tho

Watched many of his earlier fights and I liked him when he was around 212 lbs, he seemed quicker and looser. When he muscled up I thought it slowed him down and hurt his endurance. I think his outside activities hurt him also.

It sharpens your wind. He just gases out after about 3 rounds. Mouth open, power gone,

He would get tko'd instead of beaten unconcious, in that case.

Every loss he took was a TKO. Even to Lennox Lewis he was stopped on his feet and that was the best guy he fought.

He took the Lewis uppercut no worse than Vitali did.

So your point is what? He had a great chin?

In that case, Tommy Morrison with a great chin amounted to a mediocre heavyweight who abused steroids, withheld medical history, and died of AIDS.

He still loses the fights he lost, with Mercer taking a decision instead. Being on the powder against Bentt and Lennox just being the superior boxer to him.
