Are there any current fighters that fight in a nearly identical or extremely similar style to a fighter of the past?

    Name 'em:good

Joe Louis, arguably the man who invented the term "boxer-puncher" compared to a swarming, easy-to-hit pressure-fighter like Povetkin? WTF? I don't think I can name a single similarity btw the two.

James Toney has a cross of a few guys as his main style, can anyone put those together?

    Shane Mosely - Meldrick Taylor

Ricardo Lopez - Hmmm, can't think of the fighter's name...

Am I that untrustworthy to be blasted so early for mentioning a simple stylistic comparison outside of Povetkin's obviously greater workrate and Louis' obviously greater power?

    :(

    Kessler-Monzon. Please explain?
I just checked some footage of both and the comparison is a little stretched IMO

Cotto-JCC I like, Ive always thought for a Rican Cotto fights like a Mexican.

    PBF-Locchee. Another pretty good one.
And actually some Emmanual Augustus highlights sync up well with some of Niccolino's. But as I said highlights, EA was about as good as El Intocable for about 7 secs a fight.

Actually.. I always felt there was similarities between both fighters as well. Main difference being speed. Kessler probes with a long, stiff jab much like Monzon, and he's also a very precise puncher.

Watch how Kessler was anticipating Calzaghe's movements in their fight and placing his shots, especially in the forth where Calzaghe dips forward slightly and Kessler's right there with the uppercut..
